Riverside Class of 2022 Set to Graduate Friday

Riverside High School Class of 2022 is set to graduate 110 seniors. Graduation will be Friday, June 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Riverside High School football field.  Rain date is scheduled to be Saturday at noon if necessary. Lincoln High School Top Nine And Graduating Class of 2022

The Lincoln High School graduating Class of 2022 will receive their diplomas Thursday June 2nd, during a ceremony scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at the Sgt. Leslie H. Sabo Jr. Memorial Auditorium. Lincoln High School is graduating 102 students with nine students receiving high honors. Students will follow 2021-22 classes for the last time on Wednesday and underclassmen will receive their 2022-23 schedule during first period. Sesti, Roth Each Will Continue Athletics Careers at Collegiate Level

Two Ellwood City student athletes have signed letters of intent this week. Lincoln High School seniors Milo Sesti and Alexander Roth have each signed letters of intent this week to continue their respective athletic careers at the collegiate level. Sesti has signed his athletic letter of intent to continue his golfing career at California State University, according to Curtis Agostinelli, Ellwood City athletic director, while Roth has decided to continue his athletic and academic career at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. The Ellwood Area Education Association recently awarded two scholarships to Lincoln High School seniors Emma Wise and Kyla Servick The scholarships are to be used toward their post-secondary expenses. Emma is the daughter of Gina and Ray Wise and will be attending Penn State University, University Park. Kyla is the daughter of Jolene Krupa and Sam Servick and will be attending Westminster College. Presenting the scholarships to the young ladies is Mrs. Heather Brest, a math teacher at Lincoln and the chair of the EAEA Scholarship Committee.

Historical Society Announces Two Scholarship Winners

The annual Robert and Janice Barensfeld Scholarships were awarded at the Ellwood City Historical Society on Monday. Emily Fox, of Riverside High School, and Mark VanHorn, of Lincoln High School, were the graduating seniors who each earned the the scholarships. The meeting was opened by President Everett Bleakney, who welcomed all present to an exciting evening. Guy Prestia, a WWII veteran lead the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. Four Lincoln High School lettermen will be continuing their athletic careers at Westminster College this fall. Ellwood City Area School District Begins Capital Improvement Projects

According to a press release from the district, Ellwood City Area School District capital improvements have begun throughout the district. As part of an extensive capital improvement project that includes work at all four district buildings, the most visible project is underway. The district is replacing the track surface and installing turf at Helling Stadium. “The track surface was lifting and was no longer safe and the addition of turf to the football field will allow us to expand the use of the field to so much more than just football.
