Ellwood City Wolves Club Awards $18,035 in Scholarships This Year To Local Students

On Wednesday, May 31st, the Ellwood City Wolves Den II hosted a dinner to honor the recipients of the Wolves Club Scholarships for 2023. Ten Wolves Club Scholarships, with a value of $18,035, were awarded this year including three new ones. Wolves Club president, Mike DeOtto commented, “Higher education puts students on the path to many different careers. The Riverside Beaver County School District Class of 2023 is set to graduate 108 seniors. Commencement will be held Friday, June 2nd at 6:00 at the Riverside football field. The rain date will be Saturday, June 3rd at noon if necessary. Lincoln High School Top Nine & Graduating Class of 2023

The Lincoln High School graduating Class of 2023 will receive their diplomas Thursday, June 1st, during a ceremony scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Helling Stadium in Ewing Park. Lincoln High School is graduating 89 students with nine students receiving high honors. Students will follow 2022-23 classes for the last time on Wednesday. ELLWOOD Announces 2023 Industrial Maintenance Scholarship Winners

ELLWOOD today announced the recipients of the group’s 2023 Industrial Maintenance Scholarship awards. Three graduating seniors were each awarded $10,000 scholarships as part of the program. The Industrial Maintenance Scholarship program is a unique opportunity available to high school seniors and/or those who have successfully completed the GED test who plan to attend an accredited trade school, college or university following graduation. The scholarships are made available each year to graduates who are considering pursuing a certificate or degree in Mechatronics, or an equivalent industrial maintenance program. PHOTOS: Perry Lower Intermediate School Hosts 3rd Annual Careers On Wheels

Last Thursday, third and fourth grade students in Perry Lower Intermediate School participated in the school’s Third Annual Careers on Wheels event. Due to construction at Perry School grounds, the event was held by the stadium at Ewing Park and hosted 21 different vehicles according to Ellwood City School Counselor, Christina Mendillo. 2023 Primary Election Unofficial Results: Ellwood City Borough Council; Ellwood City and Riverside School Boards

Unofficial results from yesterday’s May 16, 2023 primary have been posted. Lawrence County According Lawrence County’s website, there were 13,266 ballots cast in Lawrence County. Of those, 6,434 were Democratic and 6,832 were Republican. The total voter turnout was 27.27% with 30.17% being Democratic and 25% being Republican. Click here for full unofficial results. Aliya Garroway says she needs $600,000 to make her idea become a reality. The Lincoln High School senior pitched her business plan for a “high-ceilinged” indoor baseball and softball complex in Lawrence County to be called “No Off-Season” to Ellwood City business leaders, and to community college educators and administrators April 28 as one of eight students to complete the 2022-2023 Riv-Ell Entrepreneurship program. Slade Recognized as 2023 National Merit Scholarship Winner at ECASD Board of Directors Meeting

Hayden Slade, a senior at Lincoln High School, was recognized during Thursdays Ellwood City Area School District’s Board of Directors meeting after being named a 2023 National Merit Scholarship winner. More than1.5 million students entered the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2022 Preliminary SAT (PSAT)/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test as juniors. Slade was named one of 15,000 finalists in February and was just named an official winner on Wednesday. He was one of 2,500 winners across the nation.
