2024 Riverside Homecoming Court Announced

Congratulations to the 2024 Riverside Homecoming Court! The court was announced this week by the district and the queen will be crowned at halftime of the Riverside home football game next Friday, September 27th at Riverside Memorial Stadium.  The Panthers host New Brighton at 7:30 p.m. The court (Pictured left to right) consists of Gabriella Finch, Olivia Reed, Roslyn Steinbach, Rebecca Dugas, Madelyn Czar, and Maci Connors Last year, Ryleigh Clyde crowned the Riverside 2023 Homecoming Queen during halftime of the Panthers defeat at the hands of Beaver Falls. Ellwood City Moose Hosting Free Bully Seminar On October 1st

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. The Ellwood City Moose Club will be taking action at a local level to help create a safer environment for the children in our community and bring awareness to the initiative. The Moose Club will be hosting a FREE “Bullying Seminar” on Tuesday, October 1st at the lodge. Borough Notifies Residents Of No Late Fees, Shut-Offs On Recent Electric Billing

In a statement made available on the borough website and social media this week, the Borough of Ellwood City is notifying its residents there will be no shut offs this month and all late fees will be waived due to system issues. The Borough is aware that delinquent notices have been mailed with a shut off date included. Per the Borough Manager, Kevin Swogger, there will be no shut offs in the month of September and all late fees will be waived for the month of September due to system issues with the new operating system for Ellwood Electric. Three Local Golfers Qualify For WPIAL Class 2A Individual Championships

Three local golfers qualified for the WPIAL Golf Individual championships with their performances Monday at Tanglewood Golf Course. Juniors Nate Kennedy and Jordan Keller from Ellwood City both made the cut while Hunter Garvin from Riverside also earned a spot in the WPIAL Class 2A Individual Championship set to be held on Monday at Youghiogheny Country Club in McKeesport. Kennedy (36-36, 72) shot even par to win Section Medalist honors. Keller (35-38, 73 +1) finished one shot back in his qualifying effort.
