1954 Lincoln Class “Nite at the Movies”

Pudue LaCava hosted the 1954 Lincoln Class “Nite at the Movies” committee meeting at her Mt. Vernon Drive home on Thursday, January 12, at 4p.m. The session began with expressions of sympathy for recently deceased committee member, Ann (DeLoia) Amadio. Prior to the work session, lunch provided by the committee was served by Ilene Gardner and LaCava Dessert featured a decorated cake, made by Gardner, honoring Jan Keenan’s January birthday and Clemmy Sirimarco’s recent retirement. Mohawk School District Closed After Testing Positive for E. Coli in Water

According to a news source, all Mohawk district schools are closed today after receiving positive results of the potentially deadly E. Coli bacteria contaminating the water at the districts high school location. The districts elementary school is provided water from a different system and their water remains uncontaminated, however the school is still closed. After the heavy rain we have received in the area over the past few days, it’s not surprising that some water sources have become contaminated, many times due to overflowing sewers. ECR Revitalization Winter Wine and Brew Fest

POLICE: Two Charged in Christmas Burglary Attempt

According to the criminal complaint, two males will be facing burglary charges after an incident that occurred on Christmas Day at approximately 11:45p.m. at a residence on Spring Avenue. Officers were advised by the reporting party that two males had kicked in the rear door of the house and left the scene in a green Mitsubishi Eclipse. Mayor Presents Commendation to Samuel Teolis

Mayor Anthony Court presented a commendation to Samuel Teolis, owner and respected Director of Samuel Teolis Funeral Home and Crematory after 61 years as a Funeral Director in the Ellwood City area. Mr. Teolis’s basement of the funeral home recently became a member of the PA Museums Association, it is a museum of 19th Century America and the WWI and WWII. CCBC And Geneva Sign Transfer Agreements for Eight Additional Programs

Monaca, PA – Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) and Geneva College are expanding their partnership to provide students with more opportunities as they pursue associate and bachelor’s degrees.
