The Ellwood City Football Boosters will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 7:00 pm at the Lincoln High School class room 120. If you are a parent, relative, or supporter of an Ellwood City Junior High or Senior High Football player for the upcoming 2018 Football season you are invited to attend. Please make time to join us. Riverside “Shrek – The Musical” Q&A with Lead Cast

The Riverside High School Theater will present the hilarious comedy musical, SHREK – THE MUSICAL on MARCH 1st through MARCH 4th in the high school auditorium. Ministry Program For Special Needs Underway

Introducing a new concept in local worship – God’s Choice in Ellwood City. The Ellwood City Free Methodist Church on Glen Avenue is beginning a program called God’s Choice on Wednesdays.  This is a ministry aimed at special needs folks, whether it’s physical, mental, or emotional.  The worship service will be held weekly with food, fellowship and fun. “It’s our goal not only to have these folks come and get something from it, but also to become part of it.  Whether they like to sing, want to play an instrument, or help with the less fortunate clients, we hope to…


Chambers Takes 2nd Place In Regional, Qualifies For PIAA

Donavin Chambers took 2nd place (132 pounds) at the PIAA Class 2A Southwest Regional Wrestling Tournament Saturday at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Chambers rattled off three straight wins, including a 1-0 decision over Chase Proudfit of Penn Cambria in the semifinal, but fell victim and dropped a 6-3 decision to Alex Miscovich of Mount Pleasant in the title match. The Ellwood City Wolves Club is again offering scholarships to seniors residing in the Ellwood City Area School District or Riverside Area School District who plan on attending a 4-year college or community college program. Applications for the scholarship will be made available to students at their Guidance Offices for Lincoln & Riverside seniors. Panthers Fall To ‘Quip In WPIAL Quarterfinals On Buzzer Beater

In a tightly contest, third meeting between Riverside and Aliquippa Thursday night, a nearly half-court buzzer beating 3-pointer by Will Gipson found the bottom of the net and bounced the Panthers out of the playoffs by way of a 53-50 defeat. Borough Manager Application Open Through Feb. 28

At Monday’s Ellwood City borough council meeting, council president Judi Dici advertised the position of Borough Manager. Applications will be open until Wednesday, Feb. 28, and interviews will begin shortly after. The position has been open since Jan. 2 when the new council voted in a 5-2 decision not to renew Bob Villella’s contract. Dici, other borough representatives, and borough employees have been performing the manager’s duties. According to Dici, there were six applicants as of Monday evening. “Hopefully we can fill this position quickly,” Dici said.
