POLICE: Man Maliciously Loitering, Woman Stabs Boyfriend

Man Found Guilty Of Maliciously Loitering On Tuesday, November 13 at approximately 4:00am, Pennsylvania State Police were called to Ellwood Road in Wayne Township with complaints of two males fighting in a white vehicle that was parked outside the complaints home. They then informed police that the passenger of the vehicle had fired off two shots into the air from the passenger seat. While police were en route, the male passenger who was later identified as Devin Myers, excited the vehicle and made way to the complaints porch. Library Activities For The Week Of November 19

The Ellwood City Area Public Library offers a variety of weekly activities. Information is available by calling the library at 724-758-6458. Activities taking place this week include: WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 21 10:00 a.m. – “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. 2018 Halloween Contest Winners

Congratulations to this years winners of the 2018 EllwoodCity.org Costume Contest! Gabriella Morales, the 6 month old baby dragon won first place in this years contest with an outstanding 538 likes. Following up in second place was Apollo who was dressed as Clark Kent, who is Superman’s alter ego, rolled in 449 likes. The winners stopped by the EllwoodCity.org office within the Color Center on Lawrence Avenue to collect their cash prizes this week. They were given the prizes by EllwoodCity.org staff member. Wrestling Meeting To Be Held Monday

There will be a wrestling meeting for all parents with students in grades 7-12 at Riverside and Ellwood City who are interested in wrestling.   The meeting on Monday, November 19 beginning at 6:00pm. The meeting will take place in the Ellwood City School District cafeteria.  All interested in wrestling are welcome to attend the public meeting. The Wolverines wrestling team, led by head coach Craig Alberts, had an impressive season in 2018, led by Donavin Chambers who received the Silver Medalist at the Southwest Wrestling Regional and qualified for states. Ellwood City Council: Monthly Agenda Meeting Rundown

Ellwood City Council held their regular monthly agenda meeting on November 13. All council members were present at the meeting except Mayor, Anthony J. Court due to a prior engagement. The agenda meeting was brief and allowed for attendees to get a rundown on what will be voted on in next weeks council meeting.  A significant personnel change will take place when the borough votes on Monday to hire a new borough manager.  There were 14 applicants for the position and one needs to be chosen before Joseph Cioffi ends his temporary term as borough manager in January. Vintage Clothes Needed For Historical Fashion Show

The Ellwood City Area Historical Society, the Lincoln High School History Club and the Lincoln High School Drama Club are planning a “Historical Fashion Show.” In order for this to happen, they’ll need clean vintage articles of clothing donated, or at least borrowed for this event. Ideally, the clothes should be from 1890 up until 1950-1960. The event came to be when the president of the Ellwood City Area Historical Society, Everett Bleakney, proposed to the board of director that they should reach out to Lincoln High School to try and get more people interested in Ellwood City’s history. Lincoln High School Senior Ariana Garroway has decided to continue her softball career by signing with Robert Morris University. Leading up to this opportunity has been years of hard work in her varsity softball career. Within the past three years, Garroway had proven herself to her coach multiple times. Big Foot The Movie Set To Film Sequel

On May 29, 2015 the locally filmed ‘Big Foot The Movie’ was released. The hilarious horror-comedy/yinzer/redneck film was a great success propped by local staging, talent and filming. It had a cast of locally known actors such as ‘Pittsburgh Dad’ Curt Wootton and Joanie Dodds, while it was filmed by Riverside graduate Jared Show. Ellwood City Varsity Football Head Coach Contract Terminated

The Ellwood City Area School District has terminated the contract of varsity head coach Nick Hand. Hand stepped down prior to the 2018 season due to an illness.
