“The Tamburitzans” (formerly the Duquesne University Tamburitzans) will perform their new production, PRISM – Full Spectrum Culture, at the Lincoln Junior/Senior High School on Sunday, March 31th at 3:00pm. In their 82nd season, the Tamburitzans will take the audience on a whirlwind tour of Croatia, Serbia, Armenia, Romania, Ireland, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Greece, Latin Caribbean, the Ukraine, and Macedonia. Walley Takes 4th Place At PIAA Wrestling Tournament

Ellwood City junior wrestler Austin Walley finished 4th overall in the 182-pound weight class in the PIAA Class AA Wrestling Tournament held at the GIANT Center in Hershey, PA. Walley used a 10-2 decision over Kaleb Kamerer of Slippery Rock and a 9-6 decision over Hunter O’Connor of Jersey Shore Area to advance early in the tournament.  The victories set up a rematch with Bryson Miller of Freedom Area in the semifinal. The Youngstown State University Western Equestrian team has qualified for the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association Western Semifinals, March 16- 17, at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. Project Educate will be hosting a complimentary workshop on little to big traumas and how to transcend them. Upcoming ServSafe Food Safety Certification Class

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. — Starting in 2020, the Pennsylvania Food Code will require that the person in charge of a food service operation be a certified food protection manager — and such a person must be onsite at all times during operating hours. That means at least one employee on each shift must become certified. Riverside’s Swim Team Making A Splash At WPIAL Championship

The Riverside swim team made a splash in the WPIAL championships this past weekend. On the first day, February 28, the Panthers were led by the 200-yard medley relay team of Alexander Roth, Josiah Shaffer, Graham Kralic and Donnie Paracca, which placed second with a time of 1:38.53, less than two-tenths of a second behind Indiana. Ellwood City Man Admits He Trafficked Cocaine

PITTSBURGH – A resident of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced on Monday. Jeffrey Vitale, 29, of Ellwood City pleaded guilty to one count before Senior United States District Judge Arthur J. Schwab. In connection with the guilty plea, the court was advised that on or about February 16, 2018, Vitale distributed and possessed with intent to distribute a quantity of cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance. There will be a Prize Bash Luncheon held at the Ellwood City Saxon Club on Saturday, April 27 starting at 1:00 p.m. This luncheon will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
