We have a winner! Eric Ryan Corporation and EllwoodCity.org are pleased to announce that Julia Rider is the winner of Bug Bingo. Bug Bingo was a combined effort of both businesses to raise money for the Ellwood City Relay for Life. Rider won $200 for her coverall card. Unchained K9 Links Up To Ellwood City

Unchained K9 is a new, underground dog fence company local to Ellwood City. Dogs will wear a collar with radio frequency that alerts them when they try to approach/cross the underground wire. Owners Jim and Geri Lynn Cummings had come into this business on a whim. They had an underground dog fence for 11 years prior, and when they got a new puppy, it needed to be serviced. Lawrence County Lions Club Plans Casino Trip

The Lawrence County Area Lions Club are planning a bus trip to the Meadows Casino on July 2, 2019. The bus will leave from Ewing Park across from the swimming pool at 8:30am. Flood Help May Be Available For Franklin Township Residents

According to information made available by Franklin Township this week, residents may have help in recovering from the recent bouts of heavy rains and flooding that hit the area late last month. If you had first-floor damage to your house regarding the recent flash flood, please contact the township secretary, Shannon Schlosser, at twpsecretary@zoominternet.net to get a survey to fill out. The township has to collect a damage assessment report to submit to the County. Senator Vogel Proposes Delay on Costly Vehicle Inspection Mandate

Senator Elder Vogel today (May 30) unveiled a measure that would delay a costly mandate on local garages that ultimately would increase the fees paid by motorists when their vehicles are inspected. Senator Vogel’s legislation would extend the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s November 1 deadline for existing emissions inspection stations to obtain expensive new testing equipment. “My bill is part of a coordinated effort to bring much-needed updates and reforms to Pennsylvania’s emissions testing program.
