Three Lawrence County Men Among Seven Charged With Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

PITTSBURGH – Eliot Gentry, Daivahn Brown, Donald Jeter, William McCree, Teqwan Scott, Donald Snowden, and Kailin Stewart have been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh for narcotics trafficking, United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung announced today. The Indictment, returned on Oct. 11 and yesterday, charges the seven defendants with conspiring to possess with intent to distribute and distribute at least 100 grams of fluorofentanyl, 40 grams of fentanyl, five kilograms of cocaine, 28 grams of cocaine base, and a quantity of methamphetamine, from May 2021 to October 2022. Ellwood City Fall Baseball Teams Both Earn Playoff Appearances; JV Defeated In Championship

The Ellwood City High School baseball teams wrapped up their respective fall campaigns with a combined 23-7 record between varsity and junior varsity with playoff appearances obtained by each squad. The teams were compromised of 36 players ranging from 7th grade to 12th grade. Varsity finished 10-4 (2-1 in playoffs) and missed the championship game by one run tie-breaker while the Junior Varsity finished an impressive 13-3 regular season campaign (3-1 in playoffs) and reach the championship game, falling 12-8 to the Blackhawk Cougars. Scholarships to be Awarded by Ellwood City Community Health Foundation

The Ellwood City Community Health Foundation (ECCHF) has been approved to offer scholarships to individuals who enroll in higher education to pursue a career in the medical field. The Foundation is offering four scholarships for the 2022-2023 Academic School Year. Two scholarships will be given for Financial Need and two for Scholastic Achievement. Each scholarship will be given for four years as along as the recipient maintains a grade point average of 2.0 at the end of each semester. Ellwood City Area School District will open the gates to the newly renovated Helling Stadium on Friday, October 14 in its first home game of the season against Beaver Falls. Rose Rossi Celebrates 100th Birthday

Rose Y. Rossi of Newhaven Court, Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, celebrated her 100th birthday at Shakespeare’s Restaurant in Ellwood City, with 90 family members, relatives and friends from Texas, Florida, Ohio and PA. She lived in Ellwood City from the age of 6 until she was 99 years old. Municipal Woman’s Club to Host Murder Mystery Dinner

It’s dinner to die for … The Municipal Woman’s Club is pleased to present The Death of Dr. Frankenstein, a murder/mystery dinner performed by Musical Mysteries & More. The event will benefit the Municipal Woman’s Club Scholarship Fund and will be held on October 20 at Shakespeare’s. Doors open at 6:15.
