Ellwood City Boys Basketball team’s opening round playoff game will be on Monday, February 20th at Deer Lake High School at 7:00 p.m.
The Wolverines (15-7 Overall) drew a 12-seed as the fourth team from Section 1 Class 3A and will face a 5-seed Deer Lakes team (13-8 Overall, 10-2 Section 3) that tied for its section crown with Shady Side Academy.
Tickets for FIRST ROUND Games will go on sale on GoFan beginning Tuesday, February 14th at 10:00am.
Ticket Sales:
- Student ($5) and Adult ($7) Tickets will be available online thru GoFan at: www.gofan.co/wpial
- General Admission tickets will be sold at the gate for $7 thru the Semi-Finals. No student tickets will be available at the gates (only available online).
- All Championship Tickets will be $10 both online and at the gate. The Petersen Events Center will use the Ticketmaster platform for purchasing.
VIEW FULL CLASS 3A PLAYOFF BRACKET
The Deer Lakes Lancers brings to the table the highest scoring offense in the 3A classification. With a victory on Monday, Ellwood City would advance and could possibly play section foe Mohawk (4-seed) in the second round. The Warriors open up at home versus Derry Area on Monday.
Top overall seed Steel Valley is led by high scoring senior guard Makhai Valentine who is the second leading scorer (36.6 ppg) in all of the WPIAL. Wolverines junior big man Joseph Roth is not far behind, entering the playoffs averaging 29.7 points per game.
In addition to Ellwood City and Mohawk, Section 1-3A features co-section champion Neshannock (2 seed) and Beaver Falls (13 seed), who will all have opening round action on Monday.
