EC Volleyball Defeats Panthers, Start Season 3-0

The Ellwood City Lady Wolverines finished Week One of volleyball on a high note, earning a three-set sweep of the rival Riverside Panthers on Saturday afternoon. The victory came after defeating the South Side Rams 3-2 on Thursday. Tar & Chipping Scheduled On Roadways In Franklin Township

Tar and chipping is tentatively scheduled for several roadways in Franklin Township beginning today. Township roadways to be worked on Friday, September 2nd include Greenwood Road, Lend Street, Lillyville Road, Phillis Drive, South Camp Road, South Tower Road, and Tara Drive. Ellwood City Girls Volleyball has officially started for the Lady Wolverines as they defeated the Ambridge Bridgers in three straight sets to pick up the early season victory. Morgan Gruber is moving to Nashville! But not before starring in one last show on Saturday, September 3, at Koehler Brewery, 130 Wampum Ave, Ellwood City—her Farewell Event. Ellwood City School District Closed Friday For District-Wide Safety Training

The Ellwood City Area School District will be closed on Friday, September 2nd for a district-wide safety training. The district will also remained closed on Monday, September 5th in observance of the Labor Day holiday. “The entire faculty and staff will be participating in an active shooter training on Friday,” said Superintendent Wesley Shipley in a statement. “Because this training is designed for all employees of the district, all district offices and buildings will be closed for the entire day on Friday.” Shipley advised to not be alarmed if you see an increased number of police personnel and vehicles around…


Wampum American Legion Resuming Its All You Can Eat Breakfast Event

After a summer break, the Wampum American Legion Post 749 will be hosting its next All You Can Eat Breakfast on Saturday, September 17th. The group took a break in July and August and are back to serving breakfast for the community. September’s breakfast will be hosted at the Wampum American Legion Club, 436 Beaver Street, Wampum, PA. Ellwood City Storytelling Festival Returns Next Month

Ellwood City Community Enrichment and the Ellwood City Area Public Library will be hosting Ellwood City’s Storytelling Festival on Saturday, September 17, 2022 from 4:00pm – 7:30pm in Ewing Park, Ellwood City, PA. The festival is a beloved community event that features free activities for children and professional storytellers.
