Chris Cioffi presented for the EC Wolves Club to Jackie Dimeo, President of the Holy Redeemer Christian Mother’s. A Presentation of $500.00 from funds raised during a recent Golf Bash fundraiser was made during the Wolves Club MTG on June 23rd in Ewing Park. Ellwood City To Be Apart Of Largest Virtual Game Of Catch

Ellwood City will be one of over 100 virtual locations to take place in the largest virtual game of catch next Wednesday June 30th. Jeff Potter of The Potter Baseball Tour, came up with this idea as a way to bring the community together have people of all ages participate in this once in a lifetime event. Mayor Anthony J. Court announces the 2nd Winner of the beautification award. David and Kelli Collette of 320 Mount Vernon Drive. Their hard work shows in the beauty of their landscaping. Ellwood City Council Urges Residents to Obey Traffic Signs, Property Ordinances

The resounding message provided by Ellwood City Borough Council on Monday was urgency from officials to follow the rules and the laws and to take pride in their city. Mayor Anthony Court warned residents that speeding and stop sign violations will result in citations. “This is the warning,” he said. Councilman Rob Brough addressed blight and said that violations of ordinances regarding yard waste and lawn maintenance will be enforced. Specific requirements can be viewed by clicking here. MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – Dia Neupauer of Ellwood City, PA has been named to the President’s List at West Virginia University for the Spring 2021 semester. REMINDER: Last Day For New Trash Carts

The final day for the new trash carts for Ellwood City Borough residents will be delivered Saturday June 26th. Residents are NOT to use the carts until Thursday, July 1st and are to continue to use the yellow bags until then. The new contract with Valley Waste will begin on July 1st. Any refuse placed into the carts, or any bag other than the yellow bag, WILL BE LEFT BEHIND, no exceptions.  


Moraine State Park To Host Butterfly Release

Come to Moraine State Park and release a monarch butterfly in honor of a special someone, in memory of a loved one, or just for fun! Monarch butterflies are now available for pre-purchase. If you want to release a butterfly, individual Monarchs are $15 each. It is strongly encouraged that you pre-purchase, as there may be limited individual butterflies for sale on-site. Ellwood City Celebrates 100th Anniversary Of Ewing Park

On Friday, June 18th, Ellwood City reached a very important milestone. Ewing Park has been the baseball park of Ellwood City for 100 years now. On June 18th 1921, the very first baseball was played in Ellwood. On that day, the Ellwood City Shelby county league defeated Hubbard, Ohio 20-9. The New Castle News reported, “Ewing Park”, which was used for the very first time, and it proved that Ewing Park is the perfect place for playing baseball. The 2021 Summer Concert Live season is one of the first larger events to be held in downtown New Castle after the lifting of many COVID restrictions.
