Riverside Class of 2023 To Graduate Friday

The Riverside Beaver County School District Class of 2023 is set to graduate 108 seniors. Commencement will be held Friday, June 2nd at 6:00 at the Riverside football field. The rain date will be Saturday, June 3rd at noon if necessary. Vogel Office to Host Veteran’s Assistance Specialist, Announces Virtual Grant Education

Sen. Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47) has announced that Robert Lee from the Pennsylvania American Legion Veterans Assistance Program will be available on Thursday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at his Cranberry Township District Office, 8001 Rowan Rd, Suite 205, Cranberry Township. No appointment is necessary. Lee can help veterans and their families with understanding the benefits they have earned, enroll in the VA health care system, assist with the appeals process, and more. CHAMPS! Panthers Beat Neshannock, Claim Class-3A WPIAL Crown

Riverside used a big sixth inning Wednesday afternoon at Wild Things Park in Washington, PA to claim the Class-3A WPIAL Championship with a 6-1 victory over Neshannock. The Panthers score five times in the frame, batting around the order to break open the 1-1 contest. Five singles started the inning with the biggest coming off the bat of Mitch Garvin as he delivered a two run single to put Riverside ahead 3-1. Two Local Students Receive Scholarships At Municipal Woman’s Club May Banquet

Two local students received scholarships as part of the Municipal Woman’s Club banquet that took place May 22nd at Joey’s Event Room on Lawrence Avenue Gianna Fotia, of Lincoln High School, and Abigail Hughes, of Riverside Beaver County, were the recipients of the scholarships. Fotia was accompanied by her parents, Joe and Lisa Fotia, and was presented the scholarship by Cheryl Valvano. Hughes was accompanied by her parents, Adam and Toni Hughes, and was presented her scholarship by Nancy Walton. The annual Ellwood City Memorial Day Parade took place Monday morning as our community gathered downtown Ellwood City to enjoy the parade and to honor local Veterans of the past and present. A ceremony honoring veterans was held at Legion Park directly after the parade followed by free Hot Dogs provided by Dave’s Hometown Shop ‘n Save. Lincoln High School Top Nine & Graduating Class of 2023

The Lincoln High School graduating Class of 2023 will receive their diplomas Thursday, June 1st, during a ceremony scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Helling Stadium in Ewing Park. Lincoln High School is graduating 89 students with nine students receiving high honors. Students will follow 2022-23 classes for the last time on Wednesday. Justin Hand Named CSC Academic All District

Former Riverside golf standout and junior at Tiffin University, Justin Hand (pictured left), was among two athletes to been named CSC Academic All-District. The 2023 Academic All-District® Men’s At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. Tenaris Launches Longstanding Merit Awards In Beaver County

Tenaris has launched its Merit Awards, the company’s longest running education-based program, in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, awarding a total of $25,000 in scholarships. Five seniors from Ambridge Area High School and five from Beaver Falls High School each received Merit Awards of $2,500, in recognition of their academic performance. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

BURGLARY: Katyln Kelosky, 34, of Ellwood City, is charged with Burglary and Criminal Trespassing after an incident on May 12th. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 12:52 p.m., police were dispatched to a Dollar General, at Woodside Avenue, Wayne Township for a reported theft. Police made contact with the store manager who related that Kelosky had been entering the store when no one should be present and taking money from the safe. Surveillance footage confirm Kelosky as the perpetrator and further footage was able to confirm five dates where Kelosky entered the store and removed cash and drinks…
