PennDOT Reduces Speed Limits in Lawrence County

Pittsburgh, PA – Due to the winter storm, PennDOT is temporarily reducing the speed limit on several roadways in Lawrence County. PennDOT is urging motorists to avoid unnecessary travel but those who must head out will see speeds reduced to 45 mph on the following highways: Lawrence County Interstate 79 Interstate 376 On roadways with speed restrictions, commercial vehicles not affected by restrictions on these or other roadways must move to the right lane. Lawrence County Woman Sentenced For Involvement In Capitol Riot

Lawrence County Man Convicted In Newborn’s Death Dies At Rockview State Prison

Christopher Kennedy, 42, was serving an 18 to 36-year sentence after he was pleaded no contest in June to conspiracy to commit third-degree murder. The Ellwood City Girls Basketball team used an impressive 23-3 first quarter spurt to cruise to a 47-15 victory over rival Riverside on Tuesday night. Three Wolverines finished in double figures led by senior guard Kyla Servick who finished with a game-high 12 points. Saige Chambers (11 points) and Emily Sedgwick (10 points) joined Servick in double figures for an Ellwood City team (7-9 Overall, 4-5 Section 1-3A) that has now collected three consecutive victories. Bernstine Announces Food Equipment Grants for Area Schools

HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) today announced state grants were awarded to schools in the 10th Legislative District that will help schools upgrade their facilities to continue to provide critical food services to students. The grants were made possible by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). The department awarded more than $946,000 in competitive grants to 44 elementary, middle and high schools in 23 counties to purchase new food service equipment for cafeterias. Ellwood City Little Wolverines Announces 2022 Cheer Boot Camp

The Ellwood City Little Wolverines will hold a cheer boot camp over the course of three Saturdays in late February and early March The camp is for children currently in grades 2nd through 5th and will be held on Saturday, February 19th, Saturday, February 26th, and Saturday March 5th from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on each Saturday. Ellwood City used a decisive first quarter to race out to an early lead in its eventual 60-45 victory over rival Riverside Friday evening at Riverside High School.
