Phyllis Jean   Main Gordon, 89, of Ellwood City,  passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, January 31, 2018 at the Avalon Nursing Center in New Castle, after an extended illness. She was born in Ellwood City on May 5 1928 to the late Curtis  and Edith Majors  Main. She was a longtime member of  Park Gate Baptist Church. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her  children and  grandchildren. She was married for over 43 years to her late husband, Donald L. Bernard Wise Carbeau, 92, of Ellwood City (Marion Township, Beaver County), passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, January 28, 2018.  He was at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  Ben was born in Ellwood City on April 1, 1925 to the late Charles William Carbeau and the late Florence Wise Carbeau.   He was a 1943 graduate from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City.  He went on to earn  a B.S.  degree in Commerce from Penn State University in 1950. Lydia M. Simmons, 81, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, January 19, 2018 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler. She was born in Zelienople PA on March 28 1936 to the late Charles Mathes  and Lydia Josephine Davidson.   She also was preceded by her stepfather, Scotty Davidson. Lydia was preceded in death by her late husband, Herman Simmons, who died in 1980, and by her longtime companion, Earl R. Edinger, who died in 1995. George  L. “Butch” Dwyer, 76, of  Ellwood City (Franklin Township), passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening,  January 16 2018 at  The Grove at Harmony  PA. He was born in Ellwood City  on April 4 1941  to the late George W.  and  Alberta  Geary    Dwyer. George  graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City.
