John J. LaRitz, 85, of Ellwood City, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Providence Care Center in Beaver Falls. Rita MacMurdo, 89, of Northview Estates, passed away in her residence on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. Born in Ellwood City on December 6, 1929, Rita was the daughter of the late Theodore L. and Margaret McQuillin Patterson.  She married George W. “Mickey” MacMurdo on April 9, 1953 and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2002.  Rita was a 1947 graduate of Lincoln High School.  She attended Providence Hospital School of Nursing in Beaver Falls and graduated in 1950 as a Registered Nurse.  Rita began working at Mary Evans Hospital in 1950 until the obstetrics unit moved to the…

Edith Bell (Baker) Metheny, age 96, of Chippewa Township, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 22, 2019. Donald J. Hinkle, Sr., 86, of Zelienople, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot, PA. Kenneth L. VanGorder, 77, of Boyers, PA, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 at West Penn Hospital surrounded by his family. Darrell L. Stadnik, 76 of North Sewickley Township passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospice Heritage Valley. Born in Canonsburg on November 21, 1942, Darrell was the son of the late Stanley and Helen Kordella Stadnik. Darrell had retired as production manager from Calgon in Ellwood City.
