Lawrence Kadunce, 71, of Ellwood City, passed away at his residence on Friday, September 25, 2020 surrounded by his family. Born in New Castle, PA on June 1, 1949 Lawrence was the son of the late Maximilian and Sophia Graliski Kadunce.  A Veteran of the US Air force, Lawrence served in Vietnam.  Lawrence was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steeler fan.  His family was the most important thing in his life, he taught his children how to hunt, fish and how to just have fun together.  A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he will be deeply missed by those who knew…

Emilia Kardasz Carcaise, 90, of Ellwood City, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2020 at the Lutheran Senior Life Passavant Community in Zelienople, PA. Born in Freedom, PA on May 15, 1930, Emilia was the daughter of the late Peter and Pazia Fedyn Kardasz.  Upon graduation from Freedom High School and later Duff’s Business College in Pittsburgh, she moved to Washington, D.C. where she worked as an administrative assistant for the Secretary of State.  Emilia was a charter member of the Ellwood City Lioness Club and was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish.   Emilia married Dr. Michael A. Mary T. Bartolomeo, 62 of Ellwood City passed away at her residence on Friday, September 18, 2020. Born in Ellwood City on November 8, 1957, Mary was the daughter of Joseph and Joann Black Lordi of Ellwood City.  She is survived by her husband, Orlando E. Bartolomeo whom she married on June 16, 1984.  Mary worked as a baker at Kimmel’s Bakery and was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish.  In her earlier years Mary worked as a nail tech and hairdresser.  She enjoyed arts and crafts but mostly enjoyed her time with her grandchildren. Donald R. Holfelder, 82 of Franklin Township, passed away at Providence Care Center in Beaver Falls on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. Born in Ellwood City on January 25, 1938, Donald was the son of the late Harry and Velma Bowers Holfelder.  Donald was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ernestine Takas on October 25, 2017.  They were married on October 4, 1958.  Don attended North Star School and Lincoln High School.  He had worked for American Planting in Zelienople and Veka in Fombell.  Don was a custodian at North Star School, Riverside School District and PNC Bank.  He…

George A. Tengeres, Jr., 62, of Ellwood City, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at UPMC McCandless. Born in Windber, PA on May 12, 1958, George is the son of Jean Yocca Tengeres of Windber, PA and the late George A. Tengeres.  George married the former Patricia Smith on August 31, 1986.  He worked as both a mechanic and manager of Monro Auto Service in Butler.  George was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and he enjoyed woodworking. Carol Ann Richards, 80, of Franklin Township, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 15, 2020.  She drifted peacefully having spent her final two days with her children by her side and surrounded by the loving voices of her grandchildren, who she loved more than anything in this world. Born in Ellwood City on March 31, 1949, James was the son of the late Raymond F. and Mary B. Charles C. Hedlund, 64 of Taylor Township passed away at his residence on Wednesday, September 2, 2020. Born in Taylor Township on October 19, 1955, Charles was the son of the late Charles V. and Charlotte Clark Hedlund.  He is survived by his wife, the former Lila Shutack, whom he married on July 10, 1978. Mollie R. Mazzanti, 90, formerly of Ellport passed away in Northview Estates on Thursday, August 27, 2020. Born in New Castle on November 27, 1929, Mollie was the daughter of the late Luigi and Virginia Pacella Nocera.  Mollie was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob “Jake” Mazzanti on October 27, 2015.  They were married on July 9, 1947.  Mollie was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish.  Mollie was a full time mother, she enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Janette L. Mathas, 76, of Ellport, passed away on Thursday August 20, 2020 at Heritage Valley Beaver. Born in Germany on June 5, 1944, Janette was the daughter of the late Roman and Lydia Pilieve Szkudlarek.  She married Alexander Mathas on June 12, 1965 and he preceded her in death on May 18, 2012.  Janette attended Holy Redeemer Church.
