Janette L. Mathas, 76, of Ellport, passed away on Thursday August 20, 2020 at Heritage Valley Beaver. Born in Germany on June 5, 1944, Janette was the daughter of the late Roman and Lydia Pilieve Szkudlarek.  She married Alexander Mathas on June 12, 1965 and he preceded her in death on May 18, 2012.  Janette attended Holy Redeemer Church. Surviving are her three grandchildren, Brooke Anthony, Tyler Anthony, and Nicole Anthony and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Anthony. Donald J. Parker, 83 of Ellwood City passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Quality of Life Services in New Castle, PA. Born in Ellwood City on November 19, 1936, Don was the son of the late George H. and Lillian Ketterer Parker.  Don is survived by his wife, the former Carol A. Behringer whom he married on August 22, 1970.  For over 65 years, Don owned and operated Parker’s Sweepers in Ellwood City and Beaver Falls.  Don was a very proud and active member of the Ellwood City Lions Club.  He joined the club on October 1, 1960…

DeAnn Shaffer, 56, of Alexandria, VA, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 after a long battle with leukemia. Born in Spokane, WA on December 16, 1963, DeAnn was the daughter of David C. John F. Shaffer, 90, of Perry Township, passed away at his residence on Friday, July 17, 2020. Born on March 1, 1930 in New Castle, Pennsylvania. John is the son of the late Samuel and Christina Dolter Shaffer. John is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Eleanor “Nellie” Smith, they were married on September 4, 1948. Thomas M. White, 73, of R.J. Schill Manor, Ellwood City passed away at Quality Life Services, New Castle on Monday, July 13, 2020. Born in Ellwood City on December 23, 1946, Thomas was the son of the late George E. and Mary Long White. Thomas worked at US Steel, and later at the Ellwood City Hospital in Maintenance. Mary Ann (Pisano) Sirimarco, 76, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 at Crandall Medical Center, Sebring, Ohio, after a lengthy illness. Born September 17, 1943 in New Brighton, she was the daughter of the late William and Irene (Nemeth) Pisano.  She married her beloved husband Samuel F. “Sparky” Sirimarco on August 10, 1968.  They enjoyed 40 years of marriage together before his death in 2008.  A 1961 graduate of Lincoln High School, Mary Ann was employed as a travel agent with AAA for 27 years, retiring in 2013.  She was a long-time member of Corona D’Italia…

Nancy L. Pasquale, 79, of Ellport, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Born in Bellevue, PA on August 14, 1940, Nancy was the daughter of the late Raymond William and Margaret Louise Thewes Hunt.  She is survived by her husband, Albert Pasquale who she married on May 7, 1960.  Nancy had worked at the Ellwood City Hospital in the Housekeeping Department.  She was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish, its Christian Mothers and Legion of Mary.  Nancy enjoyed playing bingo but mostly loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
