Mrs. Hardesty was born on March 11, 1946 in Pittsburgh to the late John V. and Marietta (Bassler) Markle. She had worked at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople, Sherwood Oaks in Cranberry, and Heritage Valley Medical Center as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She was the youngest of 13 children born to the late William Bernard and Anna Cecilia (Haney) Hampton on September 23, 1927. She grew up in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania and had fond memories of her hometown and large family.
