Penn State Cooperative Extension Offers ServSafe Food Safety Certification

NEW CASTLE, PA – According to the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, licensed food establishments must have all persons in charge successfully complete a food safety training class. Completing the necessary training and passing the associated exam brings licensed food establishments into compliance with the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture (PDA) Food Employee Certification Act. Man Arrested Near Portersville Trafficking $2.5M of Meth and Cocaine

PITTSBURGH – A West Virginia man has been arrested and charged in federal court in Pittsburgh with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute large quantities of methamphetamine and cocaine after his arrest near Portersville, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced Thursday. The criminal complaint, filed on October 22, charges Durell Anthony Jones, 33, of Fairmont, West Virginia, with drug conspiracy, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute cocaine. On Wednesday, October 24, the 22nd annual Operation Safe Stop will be conducted in communities across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This event is apart of National School Bus Safety Week, which runs from Monday, October 22 to Friday, October 26. Operation Safe Stop is a public awareness and enforcement effort to educate the public that passing a stopped school bus, especially when children are loading or unloading, is both dangerous and illegal. On Saturday, October 20 local college BC3 swept CCBC eye regional title to gain their 4th WPCC volleyball crown in a row. The Yellow Ribbon Girls would like to ask everyone in our area to consider signing Christmas cards to be shipped around the world to the deployed troops.  Cards can be signed by families, businesses, churches, schools, clubs, groups and teams.
