Attention Lincoln and Riverside High School Seniors: The annual Ellwood City Area Historical Society Scholarship submission is quickly approaching. In hand deadline is Thursday April 8, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will award two $1500.00 scholarships to two (2) graduating seniors. Graduating seniors from Lincoln High School and Riverside High School who have been accepted to attend a college, Trade School or Performing Arts are eligible. Teachers Now Qualify for COVID-19 Vaccinations

As Pennsylvania strives to return more students to their classrooms for in-person instruction, teachers are now eligible to receive COVID-19 vaccinations under a newly announced expansion of the Commonwealth’s immunization plan, according to Senator Elder Vogel. Under today’s (March 3) announcement, teachers will have their own separate vaccination program and will not be included in Class 1A (senior citizens and those with pre-existing medical conditions). Gov. Wolf Revises Mitigation Order on Gatherings and Lifts Out-of-State Travel Restrictions

Borough of Ellwood City Adopts Utility Account Budget Plan

According to a press release made available by the Borough of Ellwood City, a utility account budget plan has been announced. The Ellwood City Borough Council adopted Resolution #2004-4 approving a budget payment plan for utility accounts under the following provisions: Customers may complete the application form provided by the Borough during the annual open enrollment period from the third Monday in March through the third Friday in April. The first budget-billing amount will appear on the May utility bill. The maximum budget periods will be twelve (12) months with all balances due to be settled in the 12th month….


Hall Industries Expands Into New Facility In Grove City, Creating 57 New Jobs

Hall Industries, an Ellwood City family-owned engineering and manufacturing company with multiple locations in the commonwealth, will streamline its operations in western Pennsylvania into a new facility in Mercer County, creating 57 jobs, Governor Tom Wolf announced this week. Hall Industries will acquire the 468,000-square-foot Cooper Industrial Commons—a brownfield site in Grove City—and will renovate, purchase new machinery and equipment, and provide employee training.
