Bernstine Appointed to the Subcommittee on Small Business

HARRRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) has added to his responsibilities for the 2021-22 session by being appointed to the Subcommittee on Small Business under House Commerce Committee Chairman Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie). Tenaris Bringing Its Koppel Steel Plant Back Online

According to its website news release, Tenaris is pushing ahead with plans to increase its operations across the US, bringing its facilities, including its Koppel and Ambridge plants, back online. With the ongoing expansion, Tenaris is working to boost its employee base in the States by about 1,000. VIDEO: Local Man Seriously Injured After Heavy Machinery Accident

According to a Pittsburgh news source, a Lawrence County man was seriously injured when he fell off some heavy machinery and was subsequently run over by it. According to a fire chief, a man was operating a brush hog and had fallen off. He was working in his yard on Dutch Run Road near Ellwood City, fell off and a neighbor had heard him yelling for help. The neighbor then called for help. The man was flown to a hospital in Pittsburgh “with injuries all over his body” according to the video report. source: pittsburgh.cbslocal.com

In a public meeting notice announcement, the Ellwood City Area School Board of Directors has changed the location of upcoming meetings. The Ellwood City Area School Board of Directors has moved the location of their May 6, 2021 Committee Meeting at 7:00 p.m. and the May 13, 2021 Regular Meeting at 7:00 pm. to the Hartman Intermediate Multi-Purpose room. The Committee Meeting is scheduled for June 2, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. has been cancelled due to graduation and the Regular Meeting scheduled for June 10, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. will now be a combined meeting.  


Lawrence County Earth Day Ewing Park Clean-Up Scheduled

Lawrence County Earth Day is happy to announce that Boy Scout Troop 806 and the Rotary Club of Ellwood City will be sponsoring/leading a clean-up in Ewing Park on Saturday, April 17th. Those who want to lend a hand should meet at Shelter #8 at 9:30 a.m. and bring a trash bag and gloves. Please follow social distancing guidelines. BC3 Summer Courses To Top 180 In 2021

(Butler, PA) Butler County Community College will offer more than 180 courses this summer to BC3 and guest students in face-to-face classes available at BC3 locations in Armstrong, Butler, Jefferson, Lawrence and Mercer counties, or in online or hybrid formats. New Castle Woman Indicted on Multiple Drug Counts

PITTSBURGH – A resident of New Castle, Pennsylvania, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on charges of violating federal narcotics laws, Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman announced Monday. The four-count Indictment, returned on April 7 and unsealed today, named Deia Eggleston, age 46, as the sole defendant. According to the Indictment, from January 2017 through May 2019, Eggleston conspired with individuals known and unknown to possess with the intent to distribute and distribute Schedule I and Schedule II substances, including acetyl fentanyl, fentanyl, crack cocaine, heroin and cocaine. All Adults in Pennsylvania Are Now Eligible to Schedule COVID-19 Vaccination Appointments

Governor Tom Wolf and the COVID-19 Vaccine Task Force announced that effective Tuesday, April 13th all Pennsylvania adults will be eligible to schedule an appointment for the COVID -19 vaccine. “We need to maintain acceleration of the vaccine rollout, especially as case counts and hospitalization rates have increased,” Gov. BC3 To Award 11 New Scholarships

(Butler, PA) The Butler County Community College Education Foundation will award 11 new named scholarships to registered students for the 2021-2022 academic year. Scholarships are available to students who have registered for fall 2021 academic courses, to students in all of BC3’s 56 associate degree and 22 certificate programs, and to students attending all BC3 locations. The new named scholarships bring the foundation’s financial awards to 142, which collectively total approximately $200,000.
