Inspections Continue To Close Restaurants For Not Following COVID-19 Guidelines

PA Department of Agriculture inspectors closed 33 restaurants statewide by order after confirming that each was open for dine-in service and refused to comply with the order while the inspector was present. On Tuesday, the Department of Agriculture released data related to COVID-19 restaurant enforcement actions from December 21 through December 27, 2020. The department’s Bureau of Food Safety performed 381 inspections, 54 of which were complaint-driven. Of those, 50 were COVID-19 specific complaints. The department received 42 food facility COVID-19 related complaints, and 20 of those COVID-19 related complaints were referred to local and county health jurisdictions. Of the…


Local Projects Receive State Grants Totaling $6 Million

Projects in the 47th Senatorial District were recently awarded state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grants totaling $6 million according to Senator Elder Vogel. Stefanik Properties LLC, was awarded $2 million for the proposed development of the Stafanik Industrial Park on an 18-acre site in Center Township, Beaver County. The project includes the proposed construction of two buildings and the development of infrastructure to support the site. $1 Million Grant Will Fund New Training Center For Electrical Trade In Lawrence County

NEW CASTLE – A $1 million grant from the state Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program will fund a state-of-the-art electrical apprenticeship training center for Lawrence County, state Rep. Chris Sainato, D-Lawrence, announced today. ‘Operation Naughty List’ Nets Drug/Weapon Seizure in Lawrence County

According to a social media post by the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office, ‘Operation Naughty List’ has netted a large drug/weapon seizure in Lawrence County. Cameroonian Operator Charged In Fradulant Online “Puppy Scam” That Exploited The COVID-19 Pandemic

WASHINGTON – A criminal complaint unsealed Friday in federal court in Pittsburgh charges Desmond Fodje Bobga for his alleged involvement in a puppy fraud scheme perpetrated against American consumers, including a New Brighton woman. Fodje Bobga, 27, is a citizen of Cameroon who is in Romania on a visa to attend a university there. He is charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, forging a seal of the U.S. Supreme Court, and aggravated identity theft. Fodje Bobga has been arrested.
