CCBC Thanks Shell Chemicals for $150,000 Donation

Monaca, PA – Demonstrating strong support for CCBC’s industry-approved Process Technology associate degree program, Royal Dutch Shell has donated $150,000 to CCBC for student scholarship assistance and state-of-the-art educational simulation equipment. The gift will address high priority workforce needs and meet industry-specific training requirements as CCBC expands its Process Technology program. CCBC will launch a new daytime cohort of the program during the spring semester beginning on January 9, 2017. Registration is currently ongoing. Toys For Tots Benefit From BodyShop’s Kid Fit-Mas.

On December 4th, BodyShop Group Fitness held their Kid Fit-Mas event at their space in the Creekside Commons at 324 Wampum Ave. The event was attended by over 30 children from the ages of 1-10 years old. The owners of the fitness studio set up obstacle courses requiring the children to complete circuits of exercises including jumps, push-ups, crunches, hula hooping, running, and climbing. CCBC Student Awarded First National Bank Culinary Arts Scholarship

Monaca, PA –Culinary arts student Brooke Karlheim is this year’s recipient of the First National Bank Culinary Arts scholarship. The Ellwood City Parade Committee would like to thank everyone who participated, attended, and helped make this year’s Halloween and Christmas parades a success. Local Recreation Projects Receive over $1 Million in State Grants

Seven recreation projects were recently awarded Community Conservation Partnership Program (C2P2) grants totaling over $1 million according to Senator Elder Vogel Jr. (R-47). The C2P2 program is administered by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and includes the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund (Key 93), which includes Key – Community and Key – Land Trust; the Environmental Stewardship Fund (ESF); the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF); Pennsylvania Recreational Trails fund (PRT – federal source); Pennsylvania Heritage Area Program (HA) and; the Snowmobile /ATV (SATV). Highlights Impressive showing by our new comers from Jr. High Austin Walley and Jake Alberts who had a very strong showing  in their first varsity matches. Austin went 4-1 for the day and Jake went 5-0 for the day. After taking a year off,  HWT Vincent Decaria did not disappoint with a record of 4-1 for the day.  Tyler Alberts also went 5-0 for the day and joined the milestone 100 wins club.
