Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 January Meeting

Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 held their monthly business meeting on Wednesday, January 11 at 5p.m. at Pizza Joe’s. President, Clemmy Sirimarco presided over the session that began with a pizza luncheon served by Sentinel Lois DiFrichia and Mary Jane Folino. Treasurer Louise Vitullo presented the financial reports and she noted that she is collecting the 2017 year dues that are payable to the lodge. It is also requested that any membership changes such as addresses, phone numbers, beneficiary information, and contact persons be provided by informing Vitullo or Sirimarco. 1954 Lincoln Class “Nite at the Movies”

Pudue LaCava hosted the 1954 Lincoln Class “Nite at the Movies” committee meeting at her Mt. Vernon Drive home on Thursday, January 12, at 4p.m. The session began with expressions of sympathy for recently deceased committee member, Ann (DeLoia) Amadio. Prior to the work session, lunch provided by the committee was served by Ilene Gardner and LaCava Dessert featured a decorated cake, made by Gardner, honoring Jan Keenan’s January birthday and Clemmy Sirimarco’s recent retirement. CCBC And Geneva Sign Transfer Agreements for Eight Additional Programs

Monaca, PA – Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) and Geneva College are expanding their partnership to provide students with more opportunities as they pursue associate and bachelor’s degrees. Recently, the two local institutions met to sign new articulation agreements for eight CCBC associate degree programs that will transfer seamlessly to corresponding bachelor’s degree programs at Geneva. Activities taking place for the week at the Ellwood City Area Public Library are as follows: The library is closed on Monday, January 16, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Holiday. Portersville Christian School Open House

Portersville Christian School will hold an information Night/Open House on Monday January 23, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the church for families interested in enrolling students for the 2016-2017 school year. The school is accepting student applications and registrations prior to the release of next year’s tuition schedule at the end of March 2017. CCBC School of Aviation Sciences Receives Laurel Foundation Grant to Purchase New Flight Simulator

Bernstine Announces Weekly Veterans Assistance Outreach in Ellwood City Office

ELLWOOD CITY – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) will begin hosting veterans assistance hours every week at his district office in Ellwood City. Jesse Putnam, service officer with the Lawrence County Department of Veterans Affairs, will be available every Thursday at the office, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome. Riverside Graduate Receives Scholarship

Gretchen Shaffer, a 2015 graduate of Riverside High School, recently received a $1000.00 scholarship from Northwestern Pennsylvania Society of Plastics Engineers. The NWPA SPE is a nonprofit professional organization founded to facilitate and encourage the growth, knowledge and expertise among the membership by offering educational and professional development opportunities focused on the plastics industry.   Gretchen is a sophomore at Penn State Behrend studying Plastics Engineering Technology with an interest in the Medical Plastics Certificate. 1954 Lincoln Class Committee December Meeting

Pudue LaCava hosted the 1954 Lincoln Class Committee for their annual Christmas Dinner on Thursday, Dec. 1 at her Mt. Vernon Drive home. The festivities began at 2p.m. with an Italian ravioli dinner, prepared and served by Ilene Gardner and LaCava, with continuous serving through the afternoon hours as the local and out of town members arrived.
