Corona D’Italia Lodge’s September Meeting

Corona D’Italia Lodge #807 resumed their monthly meetings on Wednesday, September 14 at 5p.m. at Pizza Joe’s. The session began with a pizza luncheon hosted by the Lodge and served by Sentinel Lois Di Frischia, Trustee Patty Regna, and Member Mary Jane Folino. Treasurer Louise Vitullo was honored for her September birthday. Orator Valerie Valentino provided fall table and place mat decorations and presented candy flavors to each member in attendance. Regna voiced the invocation before the serving. President Clemmy Sirimarco presided over the business meeting that followed. Calvin Church Hosting Free Concert

Mayor’s September Advisory Meeting Brief

At the Mayor’s September 2016 Advisory meeting, several topics were discussed between the board members. There have been numerous complaints about quads speeding on Wampum Avenue and Woodside Avenue. There are still some concerns involving scams going around that target our elderly, specifically the IRS scam and the Publishers Clearing House scam. If you have elderly family and/or friends in the area, talk to them about these scams so that they do not become the next victims. Senator Vogel to Host Veterans’ Specialist at New Castle District Office

Senator Vogel announced yesterday that he will host a veterans’ specialist in his New Castle District Office to assist constituents with various issues related to their military service. Stephanie Bengoa of the American Legion Veterans Assistance Program will be available on Wednesday, September 21 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Senator Vogel’s New Castle Office (1905 W. State St. New Castle, PA 16101). No appointment is necessary. CCBC: New Endowed Scholarship

Monaca, PA –NOVA Chemicals is establishing a new endowed scholarship through the CCBC Foundation that will expand access for all students enrolled in the College’s Process Technology program. The named gift will go a long way in helping the College recruit and train a skilled workforce for Beaver County while providing greater access and opportunity for those students in the community who need it most. Senator Elder Vogel, Jr. would like to invite all area seniors and their families to attend his free Senior Expo on Friday, September 16 at the Cascade Park Pavilion, 1928 E. August Crime Watch Meeting Brief

Mayor Court held the monthly Crime Watch Meeting for August, touching upon topics concerning crime of the past month. There was discussion about scams throughout the area, targeting our elderly and some of the scams included the IRS and Publishers Clearing House. Frank Sniezek of Jaret Gibbons Office spoke to the audience about the new texting and driving laws of Pennsylvania.
