Riverside Football Advances

Congratulations to the Riverside Football Team on advancing to the WPIAL Semi-Finals by defeating Avonworth High School on Friday night. Riverside will now play at North Hills at 7:30p.m. against Steel Valley High School this Friday. Tickets will be on sale this Friday in the high school athletic office from 7:50a.m. to 10:50a.m. Then tickets will be sold in the middle school and elementary lunches from 10:50a.m. and -12:30p.m. Finally, tickets will be on sale in the athletic office again from 12:30p.m.- 1:30p.m. Student tickets are $5 and adult tickets are $7. All tickets will be $7 at the gate.


Ellwood City Area Historical Society: Some Gave All

This is the second of four releases presented by the Ellwood City Historical Society concerning the “We Can Do It!”, exhibit to be held at the History Center, 310 Fifth Street, Ellwood City. Public Invited to Union Employee Press Conference Tonight

The following press release was submitted: Ellwood City, PA – Ellwood City School’s blue-collar union employees, members of 32BJ SEIU, will set the record straight on stalled negotiations with the School Board on Thursday, November 9 at 6:45 p.m. outside of Lincoln High School. The District’s longtime custodians and food service workers have been in talks for a new contract with the Board since March. Request for Proposals for Lawrence Avenue Lots

Notice is hereby given that Ellwood City Revitalization (ECR) has released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the redevelopment of 509 / 511 Lawrence Avenue (Parcel lD #12-016800) and 513 / 515 Lawrence Avenue (Parcel lD #12-005300). These are two contiguous lots in Ellwood City’s downtown. Mayor’s Advisory Meeting Recap

On Thursday, October 26, 2017 Mayor Court held his monthly Mayor’s Advisory meeting. Discussion of many topics including the upcoming Drug Take-Back program that would be held by the Police Department and the Halloween Parade that will take place on Saturday, October 28, 2017. Other topics discussed were the street improvement in and throughout Ellwood City are nearly complete. These improvements are considered to be a “Temporary Inconvenience” with permanent improvements to our city.  The Mayor thanks everyone for their patience during this process. United Fund Annual Campaign

The United Fund will start its annual campaign drive on October 1st for the year 2018. Over the past few years, we find ourselves behind in meeting weekly goals to reach the $50,000.00 that is needed to support the United Fund agencies. We usually receive donations and pledges that equal approximately 80% of what is needed. We would encourage everyone in the Ellwood City area to reflect on what they may share with others who are less fortunate than ourselves, so we can make a difference in their lives.
