Busy Beaver Set To Open New Location On Ellwood Road

Based on information made available on their social media page, Pittsburgh-based Busy Beaver will open its newest store located at 2640 Ellwood Road in New Castle, PA 16101 on September 14, 2018. This location, just north of the Lawrence Village Plaza, is the third new store that has opened for the neighborhood home improvement retailer this year. VIDEO: Man Opens Fire Inside Local Bar When Told To Leave

According to a publish report and video, a regular at a local bar who didn’t want to leave at closing time opened fire overnight Tuesday at a Weisz’s Hazel Manor in Ellwood City.  According to reports the patron refused to leave the establishment which led to a verbal confrontation with the bar owner. With five people inside, including the owner, Michael Allen Henry, Jr., 26, of 185 Kindale Street pulled a 9mm gun out and put it on the bar. Ellwood-Wampum Rod and Gun Club Results

The Ellwood-Wampum Rod and Gun Club in Wayne Township held a turkey shoot on Tuesday, September 4. The turkey shoot winners were Tom O’Brien, Paul H. Redmond, Larry Baker, and Aaron Kelly. Kelly was a double winner, and Jim Spielvogel won the door prize. Due to Tuesday turkey shoots, trap shoots have been moved to Thursdays. Local Church To Host A Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

Members of North Sewickley Presbyterian Church will be serving up a spaghetti dinner as a fundraiser on Saturday September 22 beginning at 4:30 p.m. The menu is spaghetti and meatballs; garlic bread; salad with dressing; dessert, and drinks for adults and children. If data metrics can be measured with pieces of pie, approximatley 750 people showed up to watch the Lincoln High School Blue Band perform their 2018 pre-game and halftime perfromances last night at Helling Stadium in Ewing Park.  The band performed its traditional pregame set list consisting of the drumline’s cadence, the Lincoln High School alma mater, the “Star Spangled Banner”, and “Fanfare” – a tribute to our U.S. military.  The halftime show featured songs such as “Paint it Black”, “ Mr  Roboto”, and “Bad Romance”. Bernstine Applauds Borough’s Changes to Ellwood City Electric

ELLWOOD CITY – Following months of negotiations and legislative intervention, Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence) today praised Ellwood City Borough Council for adopting changes to Ellwood City Electric, which he said will ensure consumer protection, price stability and increased transparency for residents. The actions came after Bernstine and Sen. Elder Vogel (R-47) issued a letter to council members last month urging immediate implementation of several consumer-based changes. Bernstine’s legislation requiring the borough to adopt changes passed the House in April and was awaiting consideration by the Senate.
