Ellwood Student Among Students To Receive Shell Chemical Awards Scholarship

Monaca, PA – Following the historic announcement of Shell Chemical Appalachia LLC’S $1 million investment to expand and name Community College of Beaver County’s (CCBC’s) Process Technology facilities, 13 students, including Ellwood City’s Earl Sanders, were named recipients of the 2018 Shell Two-Year Associate in Technology Scholarship. Ministry Program For Special Needs Underway

Introducing a new concept in local worship – God’s Choice in Ellwood City. The Ellwood City Free Methodist Church on Glen Avenue is beginning a program called God’s Choice on Wednesdays.  This is a ministry aimed at special needs folks, whether it’s physical, mental, or emotional.  The worship service will be held weekly with food, fellowship and fun. “It’s our goal not only to have these folks come and get something from it, but also to become part of it.  Whether they like to sing, want to play an instrument, or help with the less fortunate clients, we hope to…

Ellwood City Wolves Club Scholarship Announcement

The Ellwood City Wolves Club is again offering scholarships to seniors residing in the Ellwood City Area School District or Riverside Area School District who plan on attending a 4-year college or community college program. Applications for the scholarship will be made available to students at their Guidance Offices for Lincoln & Riverside seniors. The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will award the Robert and Janice Barensfeld Scholarships of $1,500.00 each to two (2) graduating seniors in 2018 who have been accepted into an institution of higher learning. February Ellwood City Historical Society Meeting Notes

The Ellwood City Area Historical Society meeting held its monthly meeting Monday evening at the History Center.  The meeting was opened as President Everett Bleakney welcoming everyone, and explaining the mission of the Historical Society which is to protect, promote and preserve the Ellwood City Area History and,  to make it accessible to the people of Ellwood City. Over 400 people attended the Ellwood City Wolves and Holy Redeemer annual golf bash on Saturday at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Center. The Golf Bash, which featured prize drawings every 15 minutes, benefits educational endeavors.  In addition to the golf prizes, there was 50/50 drawing, table raffles, and a Chinese auction.
