She was born March 9, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late LaVern E. and Betty (Johnson) Carl. Active in her high school, Nancy played the French horn, marched as a majorette and volunteered time to assist in the care of special needs children. Born June 9, 1936 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Agnes (Blythe) Aldrich. She was married to Robert D. McKim who died in 1997.
