Helen McElwain, beloved wife of the late Harold L. McElwain passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Helen was born on June 14, 1921 in Philadelphia, the daughter of Francis J. and Gertrude Cahill Cavanaugh. Helen and Harold met while he was stationed in Philadelphia during WWII. They married on March 11, 1944, and after his discharge from the Army Air Corps they made their home in Ellwood City. Helen’s four children survive: Floyd H. Margaret “Peggy” Anne Karner of Wampum passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the age of 86. Born September 23, 1933 to John and Margaret Karner, she lived most of her life in Wampum, residing most recently at Carriage Manor in New Castle. Peggy attended Wampum High School where she enjoyed playing the clarinet in the band. After high school, she worked in the office at Medusa Cement before embarking on a nearly 40-year career with Penn Power. Michael C. Ingram, 71, of Ellwood City passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 14, 2020 at his residence. Born July 17, 1948 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Harold and Ruth Ryhal Ingram. He was married to Kathleen Foster Ingram, for 45 years. She survives. Mike was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed boating, fishing, and traveling to different campgrounds with his wife. Gustave “Hutch” Tetmire, 70, of Ellwood City, Wayne Twp, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Butler Memorial Hospital, although in ill health, death was unexpected. Born April 4, 1950 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Gustave and Erma Michaels Tetmire Sr. He was married on May 30, 1987 to Connie Tetmire for 33 years, she survives. James G. Wright, 77, of North Sewickley Township passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Allegheny General Hospital. Born June 6, 1942 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Sharp B. and Frances “Birdy” (Knight) Wright. Jim was a co-owner of Wright’s Meat Packing in Fombell where he partnered with his brother since 1955. James was an avid coon hunter and loved to field trail his dogs.
