Alexander “Alex” Mulig, 26, of Ellwood City passed away Sunday, January 1, 2023 peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family, following a two and a half-year courageous battle with cancer. Born March 10, 1996 in Ellwood City, he was the son of Robert Mulig and Debbie Novakovich. Alex attended Riverside High School and then worked as a concrete finisher for Omni-Stone on Route 18 in Wampum. Some of his interests were traveling, hunting, and listening to music. Born June 24, 1944 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Harry C. and Rosalie C. Boots. Albert was a truck driver all of his life and owned his own trucking business. He was an avid hunter. Mary Ann Phillippi, 87, of Perry Township passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness. Born December 5, 1935 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late James and Violet Anna Sanko Rusidoff. She was married to Samuel W. Phillippi. Mary Ann graduated from Slippery Rock High School. Charles H. “Chuck” Ritter, 85, of Franklin Twp., Ellwood City passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at his residence. Born July 30, 1937 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Harry and Evelyn Kobbee Ritter. Chuck graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955 and retired from BNZ Inc. in Zelienople after 35 years. He was affiliated with Lillyville Church of God. Chuck enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, trapping, and fishing. He also enjoyed bowling and softball. Claudia Jean Wimer, 85, of Wampum passed away Monday, December 26, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Hospital from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on December 7. Born October 26, 1937 in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late William and Winona McDonald Bartholomew. Claudia had graduated from Union High School and then from the New Castle School of Business. She was employed by the Jameson Memorial Hospital for many years working as a biller and bookkeeper. Linda R. Huffman, 76, of Wayne Township passed away Monday, December 19, 2022 peacefully at her residence. Born October 25, 1946 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Ruth M. Clarke Aumiller. She was married to Robert E. Huffman when he passed on February 14, 2016.
