Mary Ann Phillippi, 87

Mary Ann Phillippi, 87, of Perry Township passed away Friday, December 30, 2022 at her residence following an extended illness.

Born December 5, 1935 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late James and Violet Anna Sanko Rusidoff. She was married to Samuel W. Phillippi.

Mary Ann graduated from Slippery Rock High School. In her working years, she drove bus for both Riverside and Ellwood City School District’s and then was employed at the Hampton Inn in Cranberry where she retired. Mary Ann was an active member of the Ellport Community Church where she formerly served as the church secretary and Sunday School Teacher. She was an avid bowler, and also enjoyed playing bingo and going camping. Her most cherished moments were spent with family.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Samuel; three daughters, Rintha Miller of Prospect, Robin Boots of New Castle, and Rebecca (William) Shirey of Wampum; two sons, Scott (Wendy) of Ellwood City and Sam J. Phillippi, Sr. of Hermitage; two brothers, Paul of Florida and John Rusidoff of Karns City; 13 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister Patty Wallace and her brother James Rusidoff.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday January 3, 2023 from 1:00 pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 4:30 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. Ellwood City. Pastor Tom Milnes will officiate.

Interment will follow in Mountville Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

  1. I am so sorry for your loss of your mom! She was a great woman and an awesome mom! I just heard about her passing today! My prayers are with Sam and the family!!
