Borough of Ellwood City Delivering New Trash Carts

The Borough of Ellwood City will see the new trash carts being delivered by Aiken Refuse in preparation of the July 1st commencement. Click here for Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) regarding the Aiken service. The new carts are black with a blue lid with the Ellwood City Wolverine and WE ARE EC! imprinted on the lid. The pickup schedule will remain the same as in the past, and the residents of the Borough will not only see monthly savings, but improved services going forward according to new borough manager Jeff Foley. Mayor Court’s 2nd Beautification Award Winner Announced

Kim Caplinger and Becky Marshall of 510 Haig Street have been honored with the Mayor’s Beautification Award in recognition of their exceptional commitment to maintaining a stunning property. “Their meticulous care and dedication to enhancing their home’s appearance serve as an inspiring example for the entire community,” said Mayor Court in a statement. LCCTC Joint Operating Committee Remains Divided, Budget Stalled

Parents. Students. Educators. Community members. Dozens showed Thursday evening to a board meeting concerning Lawrence County Career and Technical Center’s school budget. Despite the turnout and discussion by over 30 parents, students and alumni, LCCTC’s Joint Operating Committee remains divided on its budget. “In order for our school to legally open and operate, we must have an approved budget,” Leonard Rich, LCCTC building director said. POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

RECKLESS DRIVING: Jase Barr, 24, of Ellwood City is charged with Reckless Driving after an incident occurring on May 24th. According to a criminal complaint, and at at approximately 7:10 p.m., police were dispatched near Sixth St and Crescent Ave for a reported crash. The 66-year-old female victim stated she paused at a stop sign, saw no one coming, and drove into the intersection when she noticed Barr driving towards her at a high rate of speed without slowing. Divine Grace Parish Altar Server Appreciation Tribute

On a morning brimming with joy, celebration, and gratitude, Divine Grace Parish’s Holy Name Society gathered on Sunday, June 14th at the 9:00 a.m. Mass for the annual Altar Server Appreciation Tribute at Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City. Attendance at that Mass included the parish’s congregation, along with Holy Name Society members. Senior Priest Father John Gallagher celebrated the Mass. Butler County Community College is proud to announce the names of students who have made the president’s or dean’s lists for the spring 2026 semester, as well as the names of those who have graduated recently.
