REAL ID Support Continuing With Monday Event at Nearly 60 Locations Following Start of Federal Enforcement

Harrisburg – With the federal REAL ID Act now in effect, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is continuing to offer its REAL ID Days at 57 driver license centers on Monday, May 12. Rosalie May Lebowitz Riell, 97, the matriarch of her family, peacefully passed away on April 29, 2025 in DuBois, PA. Born and raised in Ellwood City, PA to her beloved parents, Helen and Adolf Lebowitz, she studied for a short time at Penn State before marrying her husband of 67 years, Martin Riell. EXTENDED! 2025 Hometown Heroes Banner Program Submission Deadline Extended

The 2025 Ellwood City Hometown Heroes Military Banner Program has extended its deadline. You can now submit your information through Monday, May 5th to have a banner proudly displayed around Ellwood City as part of this initiative. The program was originated by Gabrielle Gretch, a Riverside graduate, who sought to start the project in October 2020 and is now being coordinated by Joseph Fisher. Ellwood City baseball and softball teams each cruised to 10-run victories on Thursday. Ellwood City baseball defeated Shenango on the road 16-6 while the softball team took care of Quaker Valley 13-3 at home.
