Hare Tosses (Another) No-Hitter, Riverside Advances To PIAA Semifinals

A week after tossing a perfect game in the WPIAL Class 3A Championship, Zach Hare continued his postseason dominance and extended his no-hit streak to 31.1 postseason innings. The senior struck out 13 batters in a no-hit performance Thursday to lead Riverside to a 6-0 victory over Mohawk in the PIAA Class 3A quarterfinals. Riverside Class of 2025 Commencement Is Friday

Riverside commencement will be held on Friday, June 6th at 6:00 p.m. at the Riverside Memorial Football Stadium. Due to anticipated inclement weather conditions, the ceremony may be held in the Riverside High School Auditorium.  To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all, each graduating senior will receive tickets for guests for the high school auditorium. Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) is proud to release 17 names of full-time and part-time Ellwood City area students who achieved either President’s List or Dean’s List honors for the spring 2025 semester. Ellwood City Tennis Conducting Mini Clinic In June

Ellwood City Tennis will be conducting a tennis clinic for any boy or girl interested in learning the basics of tennis. The tennis clinic will be held on June 23rd, 24th and 25th, 2025 at the Ewing Park Courts from 10am to 11:15am. Any child ages 5-12 is eligible to sign up and participate. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. The clinic will promote tennis skills from the basic to moderate level. “The participants will learn skills pertaining to tennis. PHOTOS: Panthers Cruise In PIAA Opening Round Victory

The WPIAL District 7 Champion Riverside Panthers cruised to a 9-0 opening round victory over Huntingdon in the PIAA 3A playoffs Monday afternoon on its home turf. Senior Christian Lucarelli tossed a 3-hit complete game for the Panthers. Lucarelli struck out seven batters and allowed only two walks. The Riverside offense exploded for five runs in the third inning to quickly put the game at bay. FREE Co-Ed Basketball Camp To Be Offered At Ewing Park Courts In July

A free, five-day co-ed basketball camp is scheduled to begin at the Ewing Park Basketball Courts from Monday, July 28th thru Friday, August 1st. Camp director Bob Rak will lead the camp with assistant coaches Al Campman, Herm Petti, Dr. Brad Brown and Joe Fisher The camp that will run from 10 a.m. till noon during the week. Life Scout Completes Veterans Memorial Day Project

Life Scout Quinn Smith recently completed an Eagle Scout project that helped showcase a remembrance and reflection that the Memorial Day holiday honors. As part of Troop 806 in Ellwood City, the 17-year-old Lincoln High School Junior set out to check every grave – over 8,600 of them in two Lawrence County cemeteries, Pleasant Hill & Locust Grove, – against the roster of over 1,500 deceased Lawrence & Beaver County Veterans buried there.
