Wet Weather Not Deterring Public Works Building Construction

Recent bouts of wet weather and some setbacks have not deterred the on going construction of the new Ellwood City Public Works building according to Dan Franus, the architect behind the new building. 2018 Riverside Homecoming Court Announced

Congratulations to the 2018 Riverside Homecoming Court!  The court had been announced at the end of last month with the names of Natalie Holzer, Lauren Bettencourt, Natalie Bologna, Sarina Steigerwald, Baylee Phillips, and Megan Rosendale. Tickets for the game will be available at Riverside during the morning on Friday. POLICE: Four Cars Damaged At Local Auto Dealership

Four Cars Damage At Local Auto Dealership: On Monday September 24 at 1:07 p.m, Napleton Automotive manager Ray Reale called Ellwood City Police with a report that four of the cars in the Napelton lot had been damaged sometime between 8:00 p.m on Saturday September 23 and 12:00 p.m on Monday September 24. The cars appear to have been keyed on the front bumper or on the hood of the cars. Borough Announces Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

The Borough of Ellwood City announced last week details of their annual Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) for borough residents.  The program will begin on Thursday, November 1, 2018 and end the first of April 2019. Individuals receiving assistance last year will be getting information from LIHEAP in the mail. First time persons seeking assistance can pickup applications at Holy Redeemer Social Services on Bridge Street in Ellwood City or the Welfare Office in New Castle. Kids Created Kingdom 20th Anniversary Celebration

Twenty years ago, it took 5 days for an empty space in Ewing Park to become a 15,000 square foot playground. Within those 20 years, the playground has undergone many changes and become a cornerstone of Ewing Park. Beneigh Insurance has made its way into downtown Ellwood City this summer, taking over the old Wilson Insurance building, located on Sixth Street, in July. The Eastern Star Soup Supper will be held  this weekend.  The event will be Friday, September 28th from 12:00 p.m to 6:30 p.m and is open to the public. Koppel Bridge Construction Continues, Currently Under Inspection

Construction is continuing on the $27.58 million Route 351 Koppel Bridge replacement project according to PA Department of Transportation Press Officer Steve Cowan. In addition, the current 102-year-old bridge will be under inspection through October 4th. Single-lane alternating traffic will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays as crews from the Larson Design Group conduct bridge inspection activities.
