Borough of Ellwood City Has Launched Its Community Food Drive

The Borough of Ellwood City has launched its Community Food Drive to benefit Divine Grace Ministerium Social Services and Food Bank. “For the past several years, the community has rallied to help our neighbors through the Community Food Drive. It’s my hope that we will be able to help the food bank provide meals for the holiday season to anyone in need,” said Borough Manager, Kevin Swogger. “We have more businesses sponsoring donation boxes than ever before!” The borough has donation boxes located at the businesses listed below. Timothy Charles Sukits, age 41, of Ellwood City, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, and went to be with Jesus. Born on May 13, 1984, he was the son of Kevin and Mary Ann (Mazza) Sukits. If there were more people like Tim, the world would be a better place. Hogue Hauls In Two, Wolverines Defeat Freedom 28-14

Dom Hogue hauled in two lengthy touchdown passes as part of an 8-catch, 169-yard receiving performance to help lead Ellwood City to a 28-14 victory over Freedom Friday night. Wolverines Boy Golf Team Wraps Up Impressive Regular Season, Turns Focus To Playoffs

The Ellwood City boys golf team wrapped up an impressive regular season with two victories this week and earned an outright section title for a second consecutive season. The Wolverines finish the season 15-1 (11-1 Class 2A, Section 5) and will turn their focus to individual and team playoffs next week. On Tuesday the boys recorded a team course record at Delmar Golf Course and bested Laurel 183-197. Jaxon Rozanski fired a team-low round of 35 for Ellwood City. Route 65 Mercer Road Slide Repair, Water Line Relocation Work Begins Wednesday

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced slide repair work on Route 65 (Mercer Road) in North Sewickley Township, Beaver County will begin Wednesday, September 17 weather permitting. Beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, a portion of Route 65 between Grandview Road and Bennett Drive will close to traffic continuously through mid-November. Municipal crews will relocate a water line and PennDOT forces will conduct cross pipe repair work, slide remediation, and pavement restoration. Three Wolverine Golfers Qualify At Section Qualifiers Held At Sylvan Heights GC

Jaxon Rozanski posted an even round 72 Tuesday morning to lead a host of three Ellwood City golfers who qualified at the section qualifiers held at Sylvan Heights Golf Course. For his efforts, Rozanski finished 2nd overall in a field of 38 golfers. Joining Rozanski in qualifying were Jordan Keller (+1-73, 3rd Overall) and Gino Biondi (+8-80, T8) at the par-72 course.
