Ellwood City Knocks Out Keystone Oaks 35-13 In WPIAL Class 2A First Round

Ellwood City scored 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter Friday night to knock out Keystone Oaks 35-13 in the opening round of the WPIAL Class 2A Playoffs. The receiving duo of Dom Hogue and DaiLonn Currie each posted impressive lines as the Wolverines offense went to the air to the tune of 36 pass attempts by Senior quarterback Tyler Smiley. Currie hauled in 11 catches for 102 yards and a touchdown while Hogue collected 10 catches for 148 yards and a score for the Ellwood City offense. 2020 LHS Graduate & Ellwood City Resident With 4.0 GPA Receives $1,500 Scholarship

(Butler, PA) The academic achievements of a 24-year-old Ellwood City resident and Butler County Community College student with a 4.0 grade-point average have been recognized with a $1,500 scholarship from the Pennsylvania Certified Public Accountant Foundation, Philadelphia. Sierra Strickler, a BC3 business administration student who intends to become a certified public accountant, is one of 91 recipients nationwide of financial awards from the nonprofit organization associated with the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs. Bus Parade Planned Friday To Recognize Hartman Being Named PA Blue Ribbon School

A bus parade will take place Friday morning, October 31st to celebrate Hartman Intermediate School being named a Pennsylvania Blue Ribbon School. Festivities are set to begin around 8:00 a.m. where the students line the halls and the teachers, led by the percussion line, walk the halls.  The school will then have an assembly from 8:15-9:00 a.m. with speakers, contests, and a celebration of the kids and staff. Tickets On Sale For Ellwood City Home Playoff Game Friday

Tickets are now available and on sale for Friday’s home playoff game. Ellwood City hosts Keystone Oaks at 7:00 p.m. All tickets must be a WPIAL ticket which may be purchased online at GOFAN.com. There will be limited tickets available at the gate. Super Fan, Season ticket, and Senior citizen passes will NOT be honored. Price of tickets are $7.00 for everyone. Ellwood City Wolves Club Monthly Meeting Notes

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den 11 met at the Connequenessing Country Club on Wednesday October 22, 2025. The members and guests were recognized for their participation in the recent Oktoberfest held on October 5, 2025 in Ewing Park. Chairman Dennis Boariu reported on the success of the Oktoberfest raising $26,202, which is primarily used for scholarships. The Wolves Club moto is Pro Bono Publico which means “for the good of the public” and selects a community group each year to benefit from their fundraising programs. The annual Ellwood City Halloween Parade took place Saturday afternoon along Lawrence Avenue in downtown Ellwood City. Thousands flocked to the sidewalks to watch and collect candy tossed from the many floats, trucks, and participants in the parade. A year after modifying the borough trick or treat to follow the annual parade, the borough modified the date again this year, moving the 2025 trick or treat date to Saturday, November 1st to initially accommodate the Ellwood City football home playoff game on Friday and also the inclement weather forecasted for Thursday. PHOTOS: Riverside Falls To Mohawk 35-24 On Senior Night

In a high-scoring section affair, Riverside fell to Mohawk 35-24 to wrap up its regular season. Mohawk quarterback Bobby Fadden accounted for five offensive touchdowns for the Warriors while Panthers quarterback Aiden Gaydosz tossed three touchdowns in defeat. Each quarterback was incredibly accurate and the teams compiled over 700 yards of offense collectively. After Fadden found Joe Nail on a 6-yard scoring strike to open up the scoring, Riverside was left chasing the Warriors on the scoreboard and never held a lead.
