POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On April 3rd at approximately 9:00PM, unknown actor(s) damaged a 41-year-old Wampum female victims vehicle. The unknown actor(s) left front window was damaged. CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Edward Allen Laurain, 54, of Ellwood City, is charged with Theft and Criminal Mischief after an incident on March 22nd. According to a criminal complaint, and at approximately 11:04AM, police were dispatched to the scene and were informed that another police office had began on a foot chase after Laurain after it was suspected he was stealing one of the outdoor central air units from the landlord’s property on Spring Avenue. Perry Township Annual Clean-Up Day Is June 8th

Perry Township will hold its annual clean-up day on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Noon). The cost is $10.00 per load with a $50.00 per load fee for larger vehicles than a car or regular pick-up truck. There will be two collection sites: Perry Township Municipal Building and the Wurtemburg Perry Twp. Volunteer Fire Department. Riverside Baseball, Softball Teams Each Collect Victories

The Riverside baseball and softball made quick work of opponents on Wednesday, each earning mercy-rule victories. The Panthers baseball team took to the road and shut-out Beaver Falls 16-0 in four innings. Hunter Garvin smashed a three-run homerun as part of a six run offensive onslaught in the second inning. Ashton Schlosser earned the win for Riverside on the mound. The southpaw allowed only one hit across his three innings of shutout baseball. Lady Wolverines Rally Late, Knock Off Central Valley 6-4

Ellwood City used a late rally, on the road, Monday to earn a 6-4 victory against unbeaten section foe Central Valley. After training 4-0 entering the top of the six inning, the Wolverines struck for four runs and added two more in the seventh to pull away to victory. Ellie Kalantzis connected on a pivotal home run in the sixth inning rally and Kiley LeViere singled in the frame to knot the score. Ellwood City Community Health Foundation Now Accepting Scholarship Applications

The Ellwood City Community Health Foundation (ECCHF) is now accepting scholarship applications for the 2024-2025 Academic Year through June 30, 2024. The Foundation will issue scholarships each year to individuals who enroll in higher education to pursue a career in the medical field. The individual needs to be a resident of either Ellwood City, Lawrence County, or Beaver County, Pennsylvania. EC Boys, RHS Girls Each Collect 2nd Place Finishes At 2024 Beaver County Championships

The Ellwood City Boys and Riverside Girls Track and Field Teams each collected 2nd Place finishes At Beaver County Championships Saturday at Helling Stadium. The Wolverine boys finished with 83 team points on the afternoon while the Panther girls collected 84.5 points. For Ellwood City, the four man relay team of Nick Wise, Bradley Custer, Drew Steffler, and Colten Crizer posted a 1st place finish in the Boys 4×800 Meter Relay (8:28.62). Beaver County Track & Field Championship Location Changed To Ellwood City

Due to weather circumstances, the 2024 Beaver County Championships Invitational scheduled for Saturday, April 13th has been moved from Riverside High School to Ellwood City. The invitational will now be held at Helling Stadium in Ewing Park. Cost for spectators is $5.00. Field events begin at 9:30 a.m. and running events begins at 10:00 am.
