Keller, Rozanski Wrap Up Two-Day Class 2A Golf Championships

Jordan Keller finished with a 2-day score of 169 (86-83, +26) to earn a 26th place finish in the 2025 WPIAL Class 2A Boys’ Individual Championships. The two day event wrapped up Tuesday at Valley Brook Country Club in McMurray, PA after opening at the Hill Crest Country Club in Lower Burrell last week. Jaxon Rozanski (86-85, +28) finished in 32nd for Ellwood City. Both Wolverine golfers failed to make the cut and advance to the PIAA. The cut line was +19 for the Class 2A Individual Championships. 2025 Riverside Homecoming Court Announced

The Riverside High School has announced its 2025 Homecoming Court. Homecoming Game is Friday, October 3rd at 7:00 p.m. Pregame starts at 6:30 p.m. Crowning of the 2025 Homecoming Queen will take place during halftime of the Panthers football game against the Freedom Area Bulldogs. The Riverside Homecoming dance is Saturday, October 4th at 7:30 p.m. at the Riverside High School. There is no homecoming king. The 2025 Ellwood City Fall Fest took place on a warm September Saturday in downtown Ellwood City. The annual spectacle features a car cruise and many street vendors. As many as 600 cars adorned Lawrence Avenue and with live music, 50 plus vendors, food trucks, kids games and crafts, and a petting zoo, the fall festival was another autumn success. For downtown, next up is the annual Ellwood City Halloween Parade scheduled for Saturday, October 25th. Time to bring on the candy, costumes, and spooky cheer! Lincoln High School 2025 Homecoming Court Announced

Congratulations to the seniors nominated to the 2025 Lincoln High School Homecoming Court! William James Mehard, Jr., 92

William James Mehard, Jr., 92, of Daniel Island, SC, died Friday, September 19, 2025, after a month-long illness at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), Charleston, SC. Known to all as Bill, he was born on January 27, 1933, in New Castle, PA to Mr. and Mrs. William James Mehard, Sr. (Ruby Morris Mehard). Borough of Ellwood City Has Launched Its Community Food Drive

The Borough of Ellwood City has launched its Community Food Drive to benefit Divine Grace Ministerium Social Services and Food Bank. “For the past several years, the community has rallied to help our neighbors through the Community Food Drive. Timothy Charles Sukits, age 41, of Ellwood City, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, and went to be with Jesus. Born on May 13, 1984, he was the son of Kevin and Mary Ann (Mazza) Sukits. If there were more people like Tim, the world would be a better place. Hogue Hauls In Two, Wolverines Defeat Freedom 28-14

Dom Hogue hauled in two lengthy touchdown passes as part of an 8-catch, 169-yard receiving performance to help lead Ellwood City to a 28-14 victory over Freedom Friday night. The Wolverines racked up 433 yards and 22 first downs offensively and did not have to punt in the section win. Tyler Smiley finished 11-18 passing for 203 yards and 3 touchdowns in the air attack.
