Police Reports: Criminal Complaints

The following are police criminal complaints filed at the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Lawrence County office of Honorable Jerry G. Cartwright. According to a complaint, on January 20, 2020, at approximately 8:45 a.m. police were called and advised on the whereabouts of defendant, Maria Carmen Rozzi, 55, of New Castle, who left a residence on foot and was in possession of a pistol. Christopher George Linville, 47

Mr. Christopher George Linville, 47, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 7, 1972, in Ellwood City, PA to George “Brad” Linville and Carol Herko. Christopher proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy as a HM3 “Corpsman”. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Christopher worked as an EDT at UPMC Passavant Hospital ER, where he would later work as an EMT for the Cranberry Ambulance Corporation. Steve Antuono erupted for 27 points to help the Ellwood City earn a 58-47 road victory over New Brighton on Tuesday. The Wolverines used a decisive fourth quarter to pull away from the Lions. Ellwood lead by one point and halftime and after the teams exchanged 13-point third quarters, continued to hold a one-point lead until the Wolverines outscored New Brighton 27-17 in the final frame to secure victory. Austin Walley Collects Top Gun Wrestling Tournament Championship

Ellwood City senior wrestler Austin Walley collected a 195-pound championship in the 2020 Top Gun Tournament held at Alliance High School on Saturday. Walley opened up the tournament with consecutive fall victories before stretching his tournament run to the championship match with two decision victories. Walley defeated West Branch junior Kenny Marra in a 13-7 decision to take the 195-pound weight class championship. One Person Dead After Two-Vehicle Crash In Wampum

According to a multiple news report, one person has died following a two-vehicle accident in Wampum this morning. According to WFMJ.com website, the crash happened Friday morning at approximately 9:00 a.m. at the intersection of Route 18 and Route 288. One of the vehicles involved was a tri-axial dump truck that collided with a passenger car. One person was trapped in a vehicle while the other was covered at the scene. The Ellwood City Girls Softball League has announced its 2020 slow pitch softball sign-ups. Riv-Ell Split: RHS Girls, LHS Boys Victorious

In what could amount to a collective draw between rival districts this week, the Riverside girls basketball team collected victory on Monday while the Ellwood City boys team was victorious last night. Both home teams won their host games in the Riv-Ell match-ups.
