UPMC Jameson Holding Vaccination Event For Ellwood City Community At Lincoln High School

UPMC Jameson is holding a special vaccination event for the Ellwood City community on Saturday, May 15, at Lincoln High School. The Lincoln High School clinic for Ellwood City and surrounding area community members, operated by UPMC Jameson, is scheduled to take place from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15. Registrations requested at Vaccine.UPMC.com, but walk-ins are welcome. When choosing the location on Vaccine.UPMC.com select “Ellwood City Com Project.” In addition to the Lincoln High School vaccine clinic location, there are several other scheduled clinics for the Butler-Beaver-Lawrence-Mercer region. Both area softball teams were victorious in action on Thursday with Ellwood City blasting South Park early on its way to a 12-3 victory while the Riverside Panthers clinched the program’s first winning season since 2014 by defeating Mohawk 9-8 at home on Thursday.  The Riverside baseball team overcame an early deficit to also win Thursday, defeating Laurel 10-9 at home. Film Producer & EC Native Follows Family Ties In Journey To Tell Story Of Local War Hero

800 missions, saving 576 lives. That is the story of local war hero Royal Stratton as told by his nephew and film producer Christopher Johnson, an Ellwood native. Johnson, along with production partner Mariana Tosca, directed a 90-minute film titled “Journey to Royal: A WWII Rescue Mission” that was released in February 2021. Tosca and Johnson, born in Ellwood City, traveled the globe to locate and interview the last remaining voices of the Greatest Generation in order to secure firsthand, historical accounts of some of the most consequential events of the war.  The film has taken 10 years to complete….


Riverside Lions Club Participates in Work Weekend

District Governor Chips Campbell and Lion Mike Milnes of the Riverside Lions recently participated in a District 14 N Work Weekend at the Beacon Lodge Camp in Mt. Union, PA. The work weekend helps the camp get ready for the incoming campers. This has been maintained by the Lions of Pennsylvania and is designed specially to host the blind and visually impaired in the state. The complex offers three different areas for housing including a Children’s Village, Adult Village and the dorm buildings. Two Lincoln High School Students Sign Letters of Intent

In the past week, two Lincoln High School seniors have signed their letters of intent to continue their athletic careers in college. Ryan Gibbons signed his letter on April 29th. He will be attending Westminster University where he will major in Engineering and will continue his baseball career. He was joined by his parents Bob and Kim Gibbons. Makinley Magill signed her letter of intent on May 3rd. She will be attending Muskingum University where she continue her softball career. She has not decided on a major just yet. Ellwood City Softball Falls to Avonworth

Two weeks ago, the Wolverines were able to erase a six run deficit to defeat Avonworth, but on Saturday there would be no comeback as the Antelopes scored 14 consecutive runs to turn a 2-2 tie into a 16-4 rout. The Ellwood City Wolverines defeated Quaker Valley 5-1 on Saturday. Prior to the contest, the Ellwood City seniors were recognized with their parents as part of the Senior Day game. After a relatively quiet first five innings, Ellwood City scored four runs in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach. POLICE: Criminal Complaints

INDECENT EXPOSURE: Michael Hill, 18, of Wampum, is charged with indecent exposure on February 14th in Wayne Township. According to a criminal complaint, officers responded to a call in Wampum from a juvenuile saying that the man she and her friend were hanging out wih exposed himself. The juvenile who made the call related she left the scene due to the inappropriate and unwanted behavior of Hill. Hill later told offcers that he was just hanging out with his girlfriend and did admit to exposing himself.
