Ellwood City Man Charged With Carjacking, Robbery

According to a social media post from the New Castle Police Department, a 34-year-old Ellwood City man has been arrested after an incident on Monday. According to the account, and on August 16, 2021, New Castle City Police Department (NCPD) officers were dispatched to the Dollar General store on Center Avenue in West Pittsburg in reference to a carjacking which had just occurred. Riverside Beaver County SD Set To Begin School August 31

The Riverside Beaver County School District is set to return to school on Tuesday, August 31st. The RBCSD District Board of Directors approved a Health and Safety plan to open school full-time for the upcoming school year. Franklin Township celebrated and held their 8th Annual National Night Out Event Tuesday evening under warm, sunny skies at the Franklin Plaza in Ellwood City. The event featured free activities for children, fire safety, CPR training, prize giveaways, and food vendors. The popular Penguins mascot Iceburgh also made his appearance bringing joy to all those in attendance. The National Night Out initiative began in 1984 in an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
