POLICE: Weekly Police Blotter

TERRORISTIC THREATS:
On February 12 at approximately 11:35 a.m. PSP New Castle was dispatched to a domestic in progress on State Line Road, Enon Valley, Lawrence County. According to the report, it was found that a Kenneth Borer, 33, of Enon Valley, had threatened a 32-year-old female victim with a gun and also punched her in the face multiple times. After a short standoff Borer came out of the house and was taken into custody. Borer was arraigned for charges of terroristic threats, simple assault, harrassment, and bond was set at $10,000.

SIMPLE ASSAULT:
According to a criminal complaint, police had been called to Wayne Avenue three times in the past week for domestic disputes and on February 12th at approximately 1:17 a.m. police arrived to the same residence to find a female victim who stated Steven Barr, 36, of Ellwood City, punched, choked and shoved her. The victim had red marks and her face and throat area. Police asked Barr about the incident and he admitted the acts and was placed into custody. Barr is charged with Simple Assault and Strangulation.



Douglas Lample is wanted by police.

WANTED:
A Portersville man is wanted by police in for his role in a drug delivery that resulted in a death last year. According to a report, Beaver Falls police have an arrest warrant for Douglas A. Lample, whom they say provided what was believed to have been a fatal dose of drugs to Dawn Dittmer, 48, in her Ellwood City residence last year. In July, police were called to a Beaver Falls residence, where they discovered Dittmer had died of an overdose, later to be determined to be due to combined drug poisoning of fentanyl, difuoroethane and amphetamine. Anyone who sees him is asked to call 911 immediately to report his whereabouts.

ILLEGAL DISTRIBUTION OF NARCOTICS:
Dorsey-Pace, age 29 of New Castle, pled guilty to distributing crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of an elementary school, United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung announced this week.

As part of the factual basis for the guilty plea, the Court was informed that, on April 6, 2021, Dorsey-Pace distributed crack cocaine near St. Vitus Elementary School in New Castle, Pennsylvania. He was on federal supervised release at that time. He was convicted in 2016 in this district for conspiring to distribute crack cocaine and was released to supervised release in 2020.

The law provides for a sentence of at least one year and up to 60 years in prison and a fine of up to $4,000,000. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is to be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history of the defendant.

DRUG TRAFFICKING:
Darnell Latham, 52, of New Castle, has been sentenced in federal court to 30 months’ imprisonment followed by six years of supervised release on his conviction for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine, United States Attorney Cindy K. Chung announced this week.

According to the information presented to the court, the Drug Enforcement Administration began investigating a cocaine and fentanyl trafficking organization that operated throughout the United States, including Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Puerto Rico. Beginning in December of 2019 and continuing through August of 2020, the DEA received authorization to conduct a Title III wiretap investigation into the organization. Latham was intercepted communicating with his codefendant and coconspirator discussing the distribution of cocaine. In addition to the intercepted communications, agents seized cocaine, heroin, fentanyl, methamphetamine, ecstasy, marijuana, firearms, and bulk United States Currency from members of the organization.
