Ellwood City Native Takes on Independent Electric Utilization Study

Liz Prence, a native of Ellwood City is doing an independent study to help people find the reason for their high electric utilization. Prence has over 35 years experience in data analysis and quality control, she has a Bachelors in biochemistry and is currently chief quality officer for Healthmap Solutions. The study will help provide information and effective solutions to people who have excessively high electric bills by determining the cause of the discrepancies seen among electric customers. “We are all charged the same rate per KWH, yet many residents don’t have high electric bills (me, for example),” Prence said….


Riverside High School Junior/Senior Prom and After-Prom

Riverside High School will celebrate their Junior Senior prom on Friday, May 11. The prom will take place at Shakespeare’s following the coronation ceremony. Students also have the option to participate in the after prom festivities that will take place at Shakespeare’s from Midnight to 5 am. Ellwood City’s Own Clock Tower Fairy

Cassandra Douglas, Ellwood City Native has written a children’s book centered on the Ellwood City Lincoln Clock Tower. “The Clock Tower Fairy: Ellwood City Tales Book One,” is about a timekeeping fairy, who has to change the clock every hour when her sand timer runs out. Group Discusses House Bill 2030 at Town Hall Meeting

A group of concerned residents in Ellwood City met for a Town Hall meeting Thursday night at the Municipal Building, to present facts about House Bill 2030. Mary Ann Viccari, who served 40 years in borough administration, presented a PowerPoint at the town hall meeting that focused on facts about HB 2030. The meeting primarily focused on what would happen if HB 2030 did pass and how it would affect the community and jobs within it. Ellwood City Narcotics Complaint Leads to One Arrested and One at Large

James Hammond Jr., 23, 413 8th St. was charged with manufacturing, delivery or possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at the intersection of College St. and Wampum Ave. According to a police report, Hammond was pulled over on a bench warrant by Ellwood City Police. Suspected Drug Operation Leads to Ellport Mans Arrest

ELLPORT- Christopher M. Rusnock, 33, of 113 Duncan Ave., is charged with three counts of manufacturing, delivery or possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, three counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of children, after wife files a protection abuse order against him.
