Mason Holler accounted for three touchdowns Friday night as the host Panthers routed crosstown rival Ellwood City 41-0 in the season opener.
Holler rushed for 18-yard and 12-yard touchdowns in the first half and then returned the opening kick off of the second half 91-yards for a touchdown.
Aiden Gaydosz collected two scoring strikes and Alex Sprankle plunged in from two yards to round out the scoring for Riverside.
Gaydosz found Bron Paxton on a 57-yard strike in the second quarter and connected with Matthew Santillo on a 33-yard scoring play in the third quarter.
Holler finished with 103 yards on the ground to pace the Panthers offensive attack. Gaydosz finished an identical 103 yards thru the air for Riverside.
Richard Cureton rushed for a team-high 88 yards for Ellwood City in defeat. Cameron Mills finished with a game-high 10 tackles.
The Riverside defense recorded 10 tackles for loss led by Tanner Richards three TFL. Richards finished with a team-high six tackles and a sack.
Ellwood City next hosts its home opener on Friday versus Freeport. Riverside (1-0 Overall) will next travel to play South Side on Friday.
