Holler Scores 3 TDs, Riverside Routs Ellwood City 41-0

Mason Holler accounted for three touchdowns Friday night as the host Panthers routed crosstown rival Ellwood City 41-0 in the season opener. Holler rushed for 18-yard and 12-yard touchdowns in the first half and then returned the opening kick off of the second half 91-yards for a touchdown. Aiden Gaydosz collected two scoring strikes and Alex Sprankle plunged in from two yards to round out the scoring for Riverside. The Ellwood City Wolverines football team will be under the guidance of new head coach Sean McConahy when they start their regular season on Friday. Ellwood City hired Sean McConahy as its next head high school football coach during a special board meeting on Friday, February 20th. McConahy, a current science teacher at LHS, brings experience in the district, passion for football and conditioning, and coaching experience at one of more recent success stories in District 10 (Wilmington coaching staff). The Ellwood City Area School District is seeking applicants to fill its anticipated vacancies for head football coach and head boys basketball coach. Current coach Dan Bradley is moving on from his positions after four seasons with the Wolverines. Bradley will wrap up as head coach of 2025-26 boys basketball season (currently 7-8 Overall) this winter after steering the Wolverines football team to a second consecutive playoff berth and a 7-5 record in the fall.
