The following is a safety message from the Borough of Ellwood City Mayor Anthony J. Court ahead of this weekend’s Halloween holiday:
Halloween is a wonderful tradition that brings families, friends, and neighbors together throughout our community. As we celebrate this exciting evening, I encourage everyone to make safety a top priority so that all can enjoy a fun and memorable Halloween.
Parents should accompany young children, review safety rules before heading out, and remind trick-or-treaters to use sidewalks, cross streets at designated crossings, and remain visible by carrying flashlights or wearing reflective clothing. Motorists are asked to use extra caution, slow down in residential neighborhoods, and stay alert for children who may unexpectedly enter the roadway.
One of the highlights of Halloween in Ellwood City is seeing our police officers and firefighters out in the community sharing treats and greeting families. Their involvement helps create lasting memories for our children while strengthening the relationships that make our community safe, welcoming, and connected.
By looking out for one another and practicing common-sense safety measures, we can help ensure a safe and enjoyable evening for everyone.
On behalf of the Ellwood City Mayor’s office, I wish all our residents a happy, safe, and fun-filled Halloween.
Mayor Anthony J. Court
