Aiden Gaydosz accounted for three touchdowns and Montgomery Michael added two rushing touchdowns as Riverside defeated New Brighton 33-22 Friday night at Riverside Memorial Stadium.
Gaydosz threw for 121 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers.
Riverside jumped out to a 14-0 first half lead behind the duo before the Lions scored to narrow their deficit to 14-8 at halftime and knotted the game at 14-14 after three quarters.
Seconds in to the fourth quarter Gaydosz found Bron Paxton for 15 yards to give Riverside the lead and minutes later Michael added a 20-yard touchdown run to put the Panthers ahead by two scores again.
Gaydosz added a 37-yard touchdown run to round of the scoring.
Michael finished with 173 yards rushing on 24 carries including 20-yard and 42-yard touchdown runs. Cole Jackson and Paxton each hauled in three catches to lead the Panther receivers. Jackson finished with a team-high 63 yards receiving including a 41-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter.

SHADY SIDE ACADEMY 27 – ELLWOOD CITY 13
Ellwood City fell to Shady Side Academy 27-13 Friday evening at Shady Side Academy.
Giulian Frisk accounted for both Wolverine touchdowns – one offensively and one defensively.
Frisk first got Ellwood City on the board with a 24-yard interception return before finding the endzone on a 29-yard touchdown run.
Frisk finished with a team-high 84 yards rushing. Nicholas Doster added 81 yards rushing and four receptions for 50 yards in defeat.
Caleb DeSanzo finished 10-22 passing for 123 yards but was felled by two interceptions including a second quarter pick that was returned by a Lions defended for score.
Defensively, Colton Gullo finished with a team-high 14 tackles and a sack. Aaden Newton added 12 tackles.
Ellwood City remains winless (0-5 Overall) and will next host OLSH on Friday at 7:00 p.m. in a Salute to Service Game at Helling Stadium.
