Aaron Lake drove in four runs on two hits to lead Ellwood City (5-0 Overall) past Riverside 11-0 in six innings on Monday afternoon at Sanders Field.
Lake doubled in the first inning, scoring two runs and smacked a 2-run home run to left field in the sixth inning.
Lake also dazzled on the mound, striking out 10 batters on the day surrendering only two hits and walking four.
Ellwood City got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after the Lake 2-run double and Cameron Mills grounded out, scoring one run.
The Wolverines added two more runs in the second. Jordan Keller singled down the left field line, making the score 5-0.
Ellwood City added one run in the third before three more runs crossed the plate in the sixth inning to extend the lead to 11-0.
Keller singled, scoring one run, and Lake homered to left field, scoring two runs.
Jackson Barber took the loss for Riverside. The hurler went three and one-third innings, giving up eight runs (six earned) on four hits, striking out three and walking three.
Keller led Ellwood City Wolverines with three hits in three at bats. Keller, Lake, and Mills accounted for all of the Wolverine RBIs on the afternoon and six of the Wolverines seven hits.
Gino Biondi stole two bases and scored four runs. Ellwood City stole six bases in the game.
Dylan Meyer and Jackson Barber each collected hits for Riverside (1-4 Overall).
The rivals will follow up with another game Tuesday afternoon at Riverside at 4:00 p.m.
